Pricey but essential February 18, 2009

Two strainers for $50. I didn't want to pay that much, so I replaced my strainers with cheapo $5 replacements. They didn't quite fit, they didn't look right, and they didn't make a proper seal with the sink. Finally I broke down and bought these puppies. It's like having a brand new sink! They fit perfectly and look sparkling. They are sturdy and solid. If you have a Kohler duo-strainer, there's no substitute for these baskets. I love them.

20 bucks for a sink strainer that fits? You gotta be kidding me. All of the cheaper alternatives don't quite fit, but this item is 10 dollars higher than it deserves to be.

I bought this strainer as a replacement for the same item. The oldfer one became a little difficult to keep clean from water deposits after a couple of years...with all the nocks and crannies strainers have.
Regardless, for about $18, this really does make a sink look new again. And the with Kohler brand, you know it's well made.
I certainly expect to buy another one in about two years with the hard water that we live with.
