Product Description Metabo KGS 255 8 1/2" Sliding Compound Miter Saw
Amazon.com Product Description With a powerful 9 Amp motor, the Metabo 8-1/2-Inch Sliding Compound Miter Saw cuts in materials up to 2-5/8 inches. It delivers a no-load speed up to 4,800 RPM and positive stops of miter cuts. With exact setting of the important angles (15-, 22-1/2-, 30-, and 45-degrees), the saw saves time with superior accuracy. Integrated into the tool is a saw blade lock for simple changing of the saw blade. A unique dust collection design removes dust through the base of the machine. An aluminum cover protects the rails and linear ball bearing system from saw dust and any building materials that may fall and damage the rails. This lightweight saw weighs only 3.2 pounds. It comes with a 3-year warranty.

| Customer Reviews: Nice saw for the money May 26, 2009 Wildenbill (OR United States) There's never enough room in my shop and I wanted a small slider to supplement my old Hitachi 10" SCMS (relegated to construction duty) which isn't really suitable for cabinet work.
The Metabo is light in weight, accurate and has excellent dust collection. It has a fitting at the back that connects to a standard shop vac type hose, it collects the dust from the slot and has a small chute behind the blade. This was a very pleasant surprise.
The blade isn't much to write home about so I ordered an Amana 64t ATB which works well with this saw. It doesn't come with a hold-down clamp so that added another $40.00 to the price.
For the price I paid, ~275 with free shipping, I'm pleased.
When you're done messing with toys, buy this... December 31, 2006 James S. Schmitz (In the Cotswolds) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Folks,
I used an off-brand import 10" from Rexon for about a year and a half. It was adequate for its price, but could never be adjusted accurately. In fact, the whole frame could easily be warped by just the slightest nudge.
After a lot of research, I decided on this Metabo and have never regretted it. The smaller blade and induction motor make for a much quieter, more stable cut. And the sliding action means I can cut wider stock than with the 10".
As well, unlike the similar Dewalt model, I can trench with this, just like a radial arm saw..
I've fitted mine with an Avenger laser guide, although in retrospect I wish I'd bought the Metabo stock one for this unit. As well, I bought the Metabo clamp, which is a must.
Well engineered, well made and backed by a great warranty that I'll likely never have to use.
