Purchased alternatives at the local hardware warehouse. They usually broke, leaked, or were difficult to turn the valve on and off. Very satisfied with the excellent quality of this product. Doesnt leak and valves are very smooth to turn off and on.

Gilmore Brass Two-way Connector July 4, 2009
A useful, virtually indestructible product that allows the user to connect two hoses from the same outdoor water faucet and control each one via a convenient shutoff lever. The device can also be used at the terminus of a standard garden hose to connect two soaker hoses.

The 2-way connector works fine. The only problem I find is that the on/off knobs are so close together it is hard to turn them. I am not the strongest person and it takes a few tries before I can turn the left knob on. Other than the little glitch I find the product sufficient to do what I bought it to do.

I used plumber's teflon tape at both of my hose connections, as they're more or less permanent. The valves operate smoothly and effectively, and none of the junctions leak.
