Don't do it. November 3, 2009 Tool Junkie (LI NY) Bought this nailer to do my roof. Unfortunately I waited till the cooler weather to do it so I can't return it, Nailer fired about 50 nails then quit. Now I'm screwed.
Update-----After a week being repaired I got my nailer back. No charge for the repair. Maybe if it stops raining I can do my roof. Add a star for repair service.
Nice day, no rain, took my nailer and some shingles up on the second story, nailer fired 21 nails then quit. Same problem as first time. Back to repair service. A hammer is looking like a much more reliable way to do my roof.
Just what I needed October 23, 2009 Big Cat Nailer was received and arrived in the time and condition I expected. Not a brand new gun, but reconditioned and with some "character" Gun works great and performed well helping me finish a roof without mishap. Would recommend anyone else go the same route.
great tool for the money October 16, 2009 John Scot Herries The nailer arrived in like new condition. I've used it for one roof so far with little complaint. The nailer is light enough to stay on the roof without sliding off, but has plenty of power. I used bostitch nails and had only a few misfires, mostly due to bent wires on the coils. If you are careful loading it, the gun does not jam or misfire. The gun has good depth adjustment, is accurate and very light and compact.
Great Gun; great price October 1, 2009 Keith Briggs (Evergreen, CO) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Got the roof done last week. It shipped on level 5 of 5 so it shot thru the first shingle. Dial on front. I had to have it at 1 of 5 for my situation. Shoots 85% flat heads (not cusped at all). It shoots straight in 99%. Both better than I'm used to. It jammed once and just had to shot a dozen blanks rapid fire to get the little piece of metal out of the cylinder. Best feature compared to other guns I've used (rented) is it shoots every nail. The last nail does not fall out when you shoot the penultimate nail. I think on the entire roof, it shot double-fire about 10 times. It has a lighter trigger than I would have designed. Generic coils worked great with it. The gun is lightweight in my book; feels like a finish gun.
Real nice product September 8, 2009 Patrick Cunningham (Albert Lea, Mn) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This reconditioned Bostitch nail gun worked very well during my whole roofing project. This nail gun was much lighter and easier to handle than the one I was renting prior to this purchase. All the Bostich features worked flawlessly. I highly recommend the Bostitch reconditioned nail gun.
