The laser guide works very good and does what its suppose to and wasn't that hard to install.

I bought the Laser Guide at the same time I bought my Hitachi Miter saw.It installed with original bolt. Found it slightly loose, side to side, on the arbor. Also cut line was 1/8" to the right of mark. FIX: I installed a 1/4 " over lapping strip of .004 shim stock inside Laser Guide, now tight on arbor. On alignment: My saw's arbor is approx. 1/16" short of the depth of the hole in the Laser Guide.This caused the Laser to be deflected, by bending the Laser Guide's case, when arbor bolt is tightened on saw blade. FIX: Install a flat washer, between the end of the arbor and the inside of Laser Guide, filling void, caused by the short arbor shaft.This brings the Laser line just to the left of the cut.
I'm still glade I bought the Laser Guide, but wish the instructions mentioned, alignment problems.

This laser guide is awsome! Wish I had bought it sooner. I have it mounted on a Craftsman 12" compound miter saw. The laser line is right at the edge of the blade on the left side. No adjustments needed.

I purchased this guide along with a Hitachi C10FCE2 10-Inch Compound Miter Saw. It installs in place of the factory washer using the factory bolt. It projects a fine, bright line on the left edge of the cut with my saw and the blade that shipped with it. So you only have the kerf of the blade to the right of the cut. While I can't speak for it's alignment on any other saw, I found it to be very accurate on mine. I unplugged the saw. Clamped a piece of material to the fence and then dented the material with the blade before plugging it back up and on. The laser line projected exactly on the left edge of the dent with the material under the line being removed. I couldn't be happier with both saw and guide and would purchase both again, especially for the price.
