A good saw at a great price October 6, 2009 samkillian (Boston) I can't really review the saw itself(i'm not allowed to use it), but it's still working great almost two years later. It came without any issues and with speedy delivery.
Great saw October 6, 2009 Bill Hans (UP, Mi USA) I recently purchased this saw to install tongue and grove paneling in our new home. It came in good shape and was accurate out of the box. It is easier to operate compared to the other model that my contractor has.
Predictable cuts, light enough to pick up and stow on a shelf August 24, 2009 wilson northrup When considering a double bevel miter saw, I was urged to get the Dewalt with a 12inch blade. Ultimately I went with a Bosch 4410, which uses a 10" blade. This makes the saw much smaller and a bit lighter. I needed to be able to stow the saw on a shelf that is about shoulder height, so weight was also an concern.
The saw did not require adjustment after delivery. Measurements confirmed that the cuts are as they should be. The dust collector could be better, but this is a common problem on this type of saw from any vendor.
I was able to get a good price on a Dewalt aluminum miter saw stand, and this connects to that without issue.
The best saw July 6, 2009 Michael This is the best saw on the market. It is more expensive than other chop saws, but you get what you pay for. The engineering that went into this saw is far superior than the competition. More durable, easier to read angles, consistent cuts, and many more things I love about this saw. Only real down side is the weight. It is much heavier than other chop saws, but that is because of the durable materials it is fabricated from.
Great Purchase June 19, 2009 Jason T. Amsden (Texas) I was sitting on the fence purchasing a nice miter saw for a long time. Having a tablesaw and a miter gauge made it possible to cut angles and tough to justify this purchase. I had narrowed down my reserach to about 3 models (this one the hitachi and the makita) and I was lucky enough to pick up the last floor model at Costco.
If you are coming from the same direction as I was, I would not hesitate to get one....even at "full price". Once you drop a nice blade in the saw the quality of the cuts and convenience cannot compare to a tablesaw setup. I ditched the laser attachment...it seems easier and more accurate for my needs to just sit the blade on the line while the unit is off.
I also bought the extended rails for the support arms and I consider that a no brainer purchase if you pick up this unit and do not plan to have additional shop supports for your work.
