Amazon.com Review Protect your hands from hot pot handles with this slip-on handle mitt. From Lodge, maker of rugged cast-iron cookware, the mitt features heavy-duty Pyrotex fabric on the exterior, along with a scorch-proof coating. Inside, a thick terry lining feels comfortable against the skin, and thick cotton batting between the two layers adds further heat and steam protection. Heat-resistant up to 450 degrees F, the Max Temp mitt fits over stainless or cast-iron handles, indoors or at the barbecue, and comes in basic black to match any décor. --Ann Bieri

fit right over handle February 6, 2010 The Cook's Wife (Columbus, OH USA) My husband uses it every time he cooks with the skillet. The handle mitt fits perfectly!
Saves my hands from hot pans! January 30, 2010 S. Decker (Scottsdale, AZ) This is a good pot handle cover. A little short for different pans but perfect for the cast iron!
Not so great at protecting hand for more than a few seconds. January 30, 2010 Molly Regelmann (New York, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you're using the Lodge skillet as a serving piece, the cover works well to prevent a dinner guest from grabbing the hot handle and burning themselves. If you're planning on using the cover as a pot holder to protect your hand from heat while you're serving, you better server really fast. After a few seconds, the heat transfers through the mitt, and it's painful to keep holding on.
Does what it is supposed to do January 20, 2010 Christine Doherty (Glendale/Burbank, CA USA) It fits the cast iron ebelskiver pan that I bought perfectly. It does not get scorched, it is thick enough. I use it once a week on Sat when I use my ebelskiver pan. That's it. So far so good. No complaints.
Perfect oven handle mitt for cast iron pans December 17, 2009 Dorothy L. Levato (USA) This Lodge protective hot-handle mitt is a winner! It works great on all their cast iron fry pans. Easy to slip on the hot handle and you don't have to struggle with those clumsy oven gloves. I wish I had it years ago - would have made handling them so much easier!
