Amazon.com Product Description The Wayne 1/2 HP 115-volt transfer water pump can pump water out of flooded basements, tanks, or boats. It can also increase line pressure by up to 40 pounds or be used to water lawns and gardens, and can even be used to wash cars and sidewalks. It's made from durable cast iron steel. The included suction strainer keeps out extraneous material, and the 3/4-inch brass hose connections resist stripping while easily connecting to garden hoses. A top-threaded priming port is easily filled, and the ball bearings have lifetime lubrication. Wayne backs its pump with a one-year limited warranty.

Works just fine. November 11, 2009 J. Boyd (Kingsville, MD.) I purchased this pump to replace a similar pump made by Flotec. This pump does a very good job of emptying out the hot tub in a pretty quick fashion. It's fairly quiet, and seems to be very well made. My only gripe is the need to have to use a wrench to remove the plug for the priming chamber, whereas it was simply a wing-nut type of setup on the Flotec. All in all, it was a good buy for the money.
Wayne PC4 Water Pump September 12, 2009 trianj (New York) Purchased this to pump anti-freeze into my burner. Easy to prime. Plenty of pressure to spare. Will easily handle any home application. Pumped in 25 gallons (5 five gallon cans) in several minutes. Read some concerns about the intake hose collapsing due to the pressure so I opted to use some 3/4 copper pipe fittings. Worked like a champ. Cast iron body so you will want to spray in some WD-40 when storing.
GREAT PUMP September 12, 2009 EAMMONE (THROOP, PA USA) I purchased this pump to assist me in emptying my very large fish tank. It worked just perfectly. It also helped in emptying our 12' pool while allowing me to use the water to irrigate my schrubs. My son uses it to pump water from his rain barrel, up a hill and into his garden. We just attach a good garden hose to one end and turn it on. This pump has a very powerful suction and can empty a body of water in no time. It doesn't have an ON/OFF switch which is a minor inconvenience. Also, being cast iron it's very heavy. The bottom line here for me is that it works, it's small and it does what I want it to do, sometimes too well. On one occasion during a partial water change in the fish tank I dropped the tubing into the tank and turned it on. It promptly sucked two goldfish against it's protective grid and held them there until I shut the machine off. One thing this machine will not do is to suction up larger items such as stones or bigger pieces of gravel. There is a protective attachment on the end that won't allow larger items to pass. This is the second pump of this kind to enter our home. My son loaned me the first one and I liked it so much that I refused to give it back, so I had to purchase a new one for him. Oh, did I mention that it's very loud? I would definitely buy this pump again and, in fact, I did.

I bought the Wayne PC4 to replace a lake pump that had been operating for more than 30 years. When I first received it, I was skeptical because it was so much smaller and lighter than the previous pump. I had to redo the piping, but once that was done the PC4 worked just fine. I am using PCV piping on both sides. The pump is at lake level, but it must pump the water up-hill about 15 feet and horizontally about 100 feet through a standard garden hose. So far it is working great. Don't know if it will last 30 years, but neither will I.
Wayne PC4 Pump - a fantastic pump August 29, 2008 Harry M. Brandler (Rockwall, TX USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Wayne 1/2 HP 115-Volt Transfer Water Pump, Cast Iron #PC4
This is a fantastic pump. For a half horsepower pump, it sure has a fantastic volume and speed capability. It's equipped with convenient brass fittings to make most hookups easier. A terrific value, especially considering the reasonable price. Wayne also has a fine selection of accessories for use with this pump. A real good buy!
