 Difficult to find May 4, 2009

When our dog turned the lamp over, I figured it would be a simple bulb replacement. It turned out that we couldn't find the bulb at any hardware stores near our home. The search on Amazon was great because it popped right up. The bulb came and it worked. Too bad when the lamp fell over that it messed up the switch that turns it on!!

While the bulb works fine, the color temperature is way off (5000K?). The light output is bright, but it's too blue for use indoors. The original GE bulb had a much warmer color to it (about 2700K). Beware you are not getting a genuine GE light bulb here.
You get what you pay for.

After reading the negative reviews of these sellers, I went back to the Energy Federation site where I bought my torchiere lamp. They can be found at EFI dot org and delivered me a genuine GE bulb that was identical to the one that came with my lamp. The price was about the same as these folks and it arrived in two days. If anything, it was over packed with lots of popcorn. It can be found with the pin-based lamps under the consumer division online shopping.

Great replacement bulb at a great price. Daylight is much brighter than even original bulb. No issues with packaging. Will replace all in my home.

It's a light bulb, what can I say ... it fits the funky torchiere that I own, arrived well-packaged in fine condition, and worked flawlessly.
