While there are a number of rotary tools on the market made by a host of different manufacturers, the Dremel Moto Tool is the one they all strive to copy. Dremel's MultiPro variable-speed model is great for a huge range of projects, from home improvement tasks to hobbies and crafting. It has a continuously adjustable speed range from 5,000 to 35,000 rpm, which allows the user to effectively work with materials as soft as balsa wood and as hard as ceramics. The flexible shaft that comes with this model is great for working in tight spots many rotary tools can't touch. The kit also comes with an assortment of accessories and a handy carrying case.  Lots of attachments, one doesn't work that well January 5, 2010

This is a great tool for small projects/hobbies, however I can't recommend it for anything else. The Dremel rotary tool works fine, however I've never gotten the flexible extension hand tool to work correctly; sometimes it spins, sometimes it doesn't.
I do find that the grinding and sanding discs break easily and it's no fun to run out of them in the middle of a project.

This tool has great versatility and performance. I was able to do tasks I used to do with high priced pneumatic tools, as a tool & die maker. My only concern is that I felt it should have lasted a little longer than it did, before the bearings gave out. I did work it hard though!!

Good value; key item versus some cheaper kits is the extension flexible shaft. Nice assortment of accessories. The lawnmower blade sharpener guide would likely work on a powered mower, but not my old reel type push mower. With a steady hand and light touch I did sharpen my mower freehand and it cuts well again. Also can use this device to trim dog nails, but my dog hates the noise. With enough repetition and some kibbles he will learn to love it too. If you set it up with care and creativity you should be able to buff, sand or grind just about any small surface. Drive unit looks well made, brushes for motor are replaceable. Drive unit is a bit noisier than I'd hoped but not worse than typical power tools.
