What's in the Box Impact nailer with standard nose, finish nail nose, large bore Nose, leather comfort glove, nose wrench, hex Wrench, tool lubricant, spare O-rings The Bostitch story Originally known as the Boston Wire Stitcher® Company, the first syllables of the words "Boston" and "Stitcher" were joined to make "Bostitch®", and the name was adopted for product use after the manufacture of machines began. Thomas Briggs, the founder, invented in 1896 a new kind of user friendly Wire Stitcher designed for fastening books, calendars, checks, hat boxes, etc. This machine made a staple or stitch as it was called from a coil of wire. It was called the Boston Wire Stitcher and the company was named the Boston Wire Stitcher Company. In 1903 the company invented a foot operated stapling machine that used pre-formed staples. These staples were not collated but had to be slid off of a track into the magazine of the machine. Later they were collated with paper and then glue. Soon the Boston Wire Stitcher Company was developing various kinds of staplers for industrial markets. In 1930 the Bostitch® Sales Company was formed to sell Bostitch® products, and in 1948 the Boston Wire Stitcher Company officially became Bostitch®, Inc. The first Coil Nailer from Bostitch, the N2, came on the scene in 1965, and the rest is history. Today, Bostitch sells a huge range of nailers, compressors, and other products, and is a leader in the industry.

Good Tool, Lousy Owners Manual November 12, 2009 keith Stevenson (Houston, Tx) I just received this tool, and drove about a dozen large nails to give it a test run. Based on this very short trial, I would say that the tool does a very impressive job of nailing. However, the owners manual is a real joke. It's a good thing this tool is pretty much self explanatory, because it takes about 15 seconds to read the owners manual. The manual is basically just a series of warnings about how not to injure yourself when using the tool. It tells you nothing about how to change out the noses, which is probably the main thing you would want to know. It also makes absolutely no reference to the odd looking black leather gizmo that comes with it.
I called the Bostitch technical help line and was told that this thing is to be used to wrap around the tool to make it easier to hold, but they could give me no information as to how to fit the tool into it. They also said that almost no one used this thing, so I just gave up after trying for about 15 minutes to figure out how it is supposed to fit around the tool.
Also, I unscrewed the nose that came on the tool, and discovered that the O-ring that goes on it was apparently installed improperly, so the O-ring got pretty much shredded as I unscrewed the nose. Ironically, the tool comes with a set of spare O-rings that contain every O-ring you would need except this one. The technical help department said they would send me eight spare ones, which I should receive in about a week or so.
So, if you buy one of these tools, the first thing I would recommend is throwing away the owners manual and the black leather thing, (unless you can think of some use for it in your bedroom) and don't try to change out a nose unless you first obtain some spare O-rings.
Great Tool.... October 25, 2009 William Thomas (Watsonville,ca) This is a great product, very easy to use.A trained monkey can use this nailer,so user friendly. The best money i have ever spent!!!!!!
Unusable September 1, 2009 G. Robinson (CO) 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
The instructions were not only of no help they gave dangerously misleading information. The nail adapter supplied had an oval bored nail holder that didn't fit the nails I wanted to use. I was unable to remove it after applying considerable force. Not really sure how to either. No information on the company site or the 'net. There is a leather thingy that looks like a support garment for a miniature dairy cow no way it would fit. Returned it. Too bad as it looked like just what I need.

really handy for overhead nailing and confined spaces and where there is no room to swing a hammer. great tool.
Great product. in perfect condition. Fast shipping too June 26, 2009 Marc Gray (Willingboro, NJ United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Product was received in great condition. I used it to fix areas of my wooden fence. This was so much better than nailing with a hammer. I originally wanted to purchase a framing nailer, but was scared off by the dangers of using one. I also have small kids.
This nailer is very safe and drives a nail in less than a second. It also comes with a few different tips to drive large nails or nails with smaller heads. You don't even have to hold the nail, as it has a magnetic tip that will hold the nail straight. When doing this though, be sure to come right into the wood with one motion or you will miss and bend the nail. It only took a few attempts to master it. Some people like to start each nail with a hammer, and then use the palm nailer to quickly drive them home. Whichever works best for you. I just wish I had this tool years ago as it would have saved me so much time!
