Video review to clear up conflicting information September 25, 2009 Samuel Curren (Lehi, UT) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R366E58EMMI59N There seem to be plenty of conflicting reviews on both the left side extension and the outfeed extension, and I've made this video to clear them up. Issues cleared up:
- The front bar for the left side extension is short enough to not hit the red lever for the right side extension.
- Both left side extension and outfeed extension come with a stop knob for securing the extensions either open or closed.
- Both extensions sag just a little, which I fixed by placing a washer (approx 0.043 in thick) between the brace and the tablesaw for the _back_ bolt on each bracket. This modification brought it very close to level, for just over $2 in washers at my local big box hardware store.
I do say a few odd words here and there in the video (quarters when I meant washers, etc.) But I'm sure you can figure it out.
Overall review: These were what I expected, fit my 4100 series Bosch worksite table saw, and were easy to install following the included instructions.
A must have option March 21, 2009 Mel D. (California) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The Bosch 4100 table saw could only be improved if this extension came in the box.
I had no problems installing it and it works just like it should: as a second pair of hands to steady large sheets, posts, etc.
Bosch TS1003 Table Saw Left Side Support Extension March 14, 2009 surfmtm (Mission Viejo, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Really like both the rear outfeed and left feed extension, I bought them both after I had to rip a bunch of 3/4" 4'x8's. Still doesnt really allow you to rip whole sheet comfortably with mobil saw but after using Skil saw to cut them to a more manageable size these extensions really came in handy
Like an extra set of hands January 12, 2009 Amateur Woodworker (Chesapeake, VA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This effectively extends your work table about about 12 inches on the left, allowing for support of your wood. The extra support provides greater stability. Great product.
Nice but not perfect by any means.... December 31, 2008 Frank E. Trinkle (Valdosta, GA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have both the rear extension and this one for my 4100-09. It takes about 10 minutes to install by the instructions.
There are two problems with this extension that are more annoyances than deal-breakers:
1. The extension is somewhat lower than the table and I don't see how it can be easily made level. Not that big a deal, but should have been absolutely level.
2. Unlike the rear extension, there is quite a bit of wobble in the extension when it is extended. The rear extension is quite firm, but this one seems less than solid.
Still happy with the purchase and can make it work for what I need it for.
