I've had the Zuvo Water Purator for almost 4 months. I bought it as an Amazon lightening deal and also purchased the 'butler' so that I could mount it under the sink (where an existing soap dispenser lived). Even as a woman, with no plumbing experience I had it installed and running in under an hour.
All of my family and guests either notice the difference and comment on how great the water tastes or don't notice it at all. I think this is the ultimate compliment for Zuvo. Mechanically, the device works well and I am definitely saving money on bottled water. Also, I no longer have to deal with a nasty water filter pitcher that is constantly growing mold and in need of a good deal of my limited counter-space. The only thing I can say negative toward my Zuvo is that the water flow is not like turning on the tap at full force. But it's not like the slow drip of a filter pitcher either.
All in all, I wouldn't trade my Zuvo for any other water filtration product on the market.

To all the haters, get a grip! Of course there are shill reviews here, and everywhere else. That doesn't mean EVERY review is suspect!
I bought this as a present for my parents. They seem to like it, and it's a lot more convenient than the pitcher-type filter system they were thinking of buying.
The Good:
- Looks nice. If you have to have it sitting on the counter, it's not butt-ugly like so many "gadgets" out there.
- Filters out bad tasting chemicals.
- Claims to kill germs, but without independent test results, I'm always skeptical of those types of claims.
- Replacement filters are cheaper per gallon than the pitcher-type filters.
The Bad:
- Pricey. I got it as a Gold Box special, but even then thought twice about it.
- Hose gets in the way. They should include tie straps and protective grommet, so that you can secure the hose to the faucet neck. That's what I ended up doing for my parents.
- Slight delay in getting water after turning it on. It's just the nature of the design. It shuts off automatically when the water is shut off, so it needs a few seconds to switch back on and circulate the water. Not a huge deal.
- Limited on/off cycle life. They recommend that you use this to fill up a large jug or something, rather than turning it on/off for one glass of water at a time.

I was spending $300 per month on bottled water, and I'm so picky, it was Evian for drinking, and cheaper water only for boiling pasta. I've lived in Manhattan for eleven years, and tried a number methods to get good drinking water. I've lived in other cities, including Boston, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and San Francisco. In those places I used faucet mounted filters of various brands, with reasonable aesthetic results, needing to change the filter every three months as it became clogged. In New York City, the filters clogged after a couple weeks. I soon resorted to pitcher filters, but found the flavor and longevity were not good. I also felt uneasy about the pitcher and faucet mounted filters in that they held stagnant water for a long time, leaving open the possibility of microbial growth. The Zuvo eliminates that possibility by means of ultraviolet light, which keeps shining half a minute after the filter is shut off. Further, the Zuvo carbon filter survives more than two months of NYC water before a replacement is needed. That means I spend about $12 per month on drinking water.
It's easy to install: screw it onto the faucet, plug it in, and that's it. At first, I had assumed I would want to buy the under-sink installation kit. After hooking it up, I found this unnecessary for me. It looks nice on the counter, takes up very little space, the hose does not get in the way, and frankly, I like to look at the diffused (protected) blue light and the bubbles.
But most important for me: the water tastes great. It tastes better than almost any bottled or filtered water. Friends and guests have commented on the good flavor, even if I they had not seen the filter or heard me mention it.

I pretty much would like to say the same things as Green's review, which is excellent by the way. It was fairly easy to install if you have a wrench - it took me less than ten minutes to install and I ran it through for a while.
It's cool to watch the opaque cylinder become transparent as the filter turns on, so I just leave it on the counter. I thought the tubes would get in the way, but it really doesn't, except maybe if you're washing dishes.
The taste isn't noticeably that different from other filters, but it's probably because it's difficult to distinguish what is that much cleaner to a certain point.
However, it's the most convenient filtration system I've ever used - you run the water and pull a switch to get filtered water (and the filter powers on automatically). Usually I just leave a water bottle in the sink until it fills up the entire way. Turning off the water powers the filtration system down and it's just simply user friendly.
Even though the online registration doesn't work, sending in your warranty card to get the free filter does work (from my personal experience), so buying this gets you that bonus carbon filter if you choose to spend the 5 minutes filling out the card and sending it.
The only real downside is the price, but I found it to be worth it since I drink a lot of water and it was a Gold Box deal, which ended up being ~$175 for me (and it's even less now at the moment).

I purchased the V2.5 model this past month, and now that it has been installed a couple of weeks I can report on the product.
First of all one should realize that this is not a water purifier - the unit expects to receive water that is already treated by a city water treatment plant, so it is not suitable for well water or other situations of this type. It purports to make the water healthier by use of ozone and a carbon filter.
Our sink has a removable nozzle, on a hose, so there was no way to use the included spout gadget that screws in and makes the water purifier easy to install. In my situation there was also no hole in the sink, so I had to call in a plumber to install the optional butler kit, which usually installs the Purator under the sink. HOWEVER, since my house is pretty old, there was no 120V outlet under the sink either - so it was either call in an electrician or be creative. I chose the latter. The Zuvo unit is on top of the counter, and the water goes from the pipes to the unit, then back underneath to the butler unit, which is a small spout used only for this water. The butler unit does come with a mount for the unit for those who can actually install it under the sink.
I actually wanted the unit on top of the counter, because the main way you see that the unit needs a new charcoal filter or UV unit is -- wait for it -- to SEE. So it worked out well that it did not end up under the sink. And what it the point of having a super cool water filter that uses UV light if you cannot see it? The unit looks silver until the water starts flowing, which trips some kind of electrical switch and causes the UV light to come on. It is neat to watch, and you know immediately that the filter is still good because the bubbles swirl around.
Now as to the taste. Personally I cannot tell much difference (to me it tastes sort of clean), but my wife and children rave about the taste. I have already noticed that my kids are drinking more water. I suppose part of the attraction is the light show that you get when the unit is functioning!
There are a couple of drawbacks:
- The butler unit does not shut off the water immediately - it sort of dribbles to a stop. It is a bit painful to see the waste - either of water if I pull the glass out early, or of time while I wait for a complete stop to the flow. I did not use the normal "screw in" connector, so I don't know if this occurs when it is connected to the faucet directly rather than to the butler unit.
- The other issue I have is that the instructions say NOT to use hot water. The unit is connected to my cold water pipes, but in the summer the attic gets VERY hot here in Los Angeles, so I have to run the normal faucet for a half minute to get to the cool water. But then generally I would have done that anyway if I was drinking tap water.
- The company offers a free water filter if you register, either on line or with the (LARGE) included registration card. The only problem is that the company website offers no place I can find to register on line. This would have made me suspicious had I checked before buying, but since the product works, I am not complaining. But I still have to remember to send in that card...
I haven't owned the unit long, but so far it has exceeded my expectations.
