Cheap Chinese Crap!!!! December 3, 2009 Black Panzer (Alexandria, VA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this as a gift. My first thought was qualtiy like the old stanley thermos, I unfortunetly donated. I was wrong as wrong can be thinking this would be like my old made in USA Stanley. It looks like Stanley sold out for cheap labor (chose short term profit over quality and long term growth) in China and forgot quality control. it does not hold heat and leaks like a screen window. Do not buy this; period! For what it is, a chaep piece of crap, it is not worth the price. Save your money and get a Japanese bottle from Nissan or Zojirushi where a least there is some quality control. I would give this zero stars but Amazon does not allow that option so one star it is.
Not your Grand Fathers Stanley Bottle - Made in China - SAD SAD December 1, 2009 bebe (Illinois, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These were a great American made product for many years. Your fathers and grand fathers swore by the great quality. A company called Pacific Marketing International bought the business from the original Stanley-Aladdin Company and ruined the design. They no longer keep your coffee hot for more than an hour. They are now made in China. If it says 'Made in USA Nashville, TN' on the bottom, hang on to it - the new ones are not worth a dime. When you call the new company - no one answers, if you write them no response, and if you send the bottle back to them, you lost it forever(not that it matters). They are tricking people by using the 'Stanley' name, these are NOT true 'Stanley' bottles. They are junk!
Keeps coffee hot! Good for hunting December 1, 2009 Elizabeth Hall (St. Louis, MO) I bought the 1 quart version of this for my husband initially and he loves that one. Great for long car rides. Keeps coffee hot ALL day. But he wanted a smaller one for hunting and this one filled the bill. Keeps coffee hot and a bit easier to tote around when outside of a car. We use both sizes fairly regularly and both are holding up great!
Stanley does it again! November 23, 2009 David Crabtree (California, USA) Yes it is nice to roll down the highway with your latte or mocha in the cup holder, but what if you want to drink that half-caf, no whip, fair traded, pumpkin cappachino on the top of that mountain over there, or out in the forest chopping down the family
Christmas tree, or out on one of those three hours cruises with the Professor, the millionaire and the movie star... mmmmmmm? If that's the case then this little version of the Stanley thermos is just what you need. It will keep your tea or coffee hot for many hours, or if you have some of those water flavorings packets, pour one in, add a few full sized ice cubes to the wide mouth opening, fill with water, and by the time you've climbed half way to the top of tht hill, or tended to that nasty blister from the axe, or wondered if the Captain can get you back to port before the storm drives you into that deserted island, you'll have a cold drink ready.
The pour spout seems slow the first time you pour something into the top/cup, but I think it's so you won't splash hot liquid all over your hand. The more I used it, the less it bothered me. We took these on a recent cuise and used them on and off ship. It was nice to pour some into the cup and know the rest was still hot for the next break.
I wondered why there was no handle and then realized this one is meant to be stuffed in a backpack
or satchel. My wife put hers in her purse and I put mine under my camera in my messager bag.
They also fit easily in my motorcycle saddle bags so I can have hot coffee in the morning
and cold water in the afternoon.
Hot...not hot enough October 27, 2009 kmfnyc 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Slightly disappointed in this bottle. It's not as heavy as I thought it would be which is great. But, it doesn't keep liquids hot for the advertised 12 hours. I get about 3 1/2 hours before my coffee becomes cool. I do follow the instructions for preheating with boiling water, and the bottle remains cool to the touch which indicates that it is "working". But somewhat disappointed that it's not going to keep things hot all day. Though, the capacity isn't great enough to really need that (unless you want to make coffee/tea to drink AFTER work, for example). What I really needed is something to keep my coffee warm on marathon morning and the 3 1/2 hours limit will just make the cut from when I make my coffee until when I will drink it.
