 Works for one day September 30, 2008
I purchased this item to silence my neighbor's dog after reading several reviews that the product was effective. The Dazer does seem to affect the dogs, as they move their ears/heads when the button is pressed. However, it does not cause them to stop barking. Additionally, the product stopped working after about 2-3 days, even after changing the battery. I do not recommend this product and I'm a little angry that it cost me $27.

I tried this on the large dogs on either side of us that bark nonstop. They do seem to hear it and are mildy curious. They just associate the sound with me now and it has not stopped the barking. I tested it on our cat and she seemed annoyed and tried to get away from it. Tested it quickly on a beagle and our new puppy. The first time, which was only a quick push, they seemed startled and definitely heard it, but then when tried it more, just to see if it worked, they didn't seem to distressed just more trying to find out what the noise was. So, much to my dismay, it did not solve my problem and I had hoped, with all the good reviews that it really would bring some peace.
 Works Like A Charm, Wonderful Quiet September 26, 2008
I was skeptical when purchasing this item even though it had good feedback. I live in a small apartment with a house in close proximity. The nearest part of the deck on the house is approx. 10 feet from my apartment. You guessed it!! A huge dog spends a lot of time on the deck (right outside my apartment) barking and barking and barking.
I deceided I might as well give the Dazer a try. After I received this product I couldn't wait for the barking to start and I didn't have to wait long.
One blast from the Dazer and that big dog turned around and ran in the house. The next time he barked, same thing happened and he ran right back in the house. It took about 3 time with the Dazer, now the big guy lays quietly on the deck and I don't have to hear hours of barking.
It even worked once when the dog was at the far end of the deck barking and I think that would be approx. 20 - 25 feet from my apartment.
This product is the best!!!
Did not work for me September 23, 2008
I tried the Dog Dazer II in the presence of a half dozen dogs including my own and it had very little effect on any of their behaviors. What prompted my purchase of this product was my neighbor's barking dog...if anything it only made him bark more.

This item does emit ultrasonic sounds that dogs will hear. My dog clearly hears when I press the button on the Dazer II. However I do not recommend buying this item to keep your dog from misbehaving. My dog learned to ignore the ultrasonic sound within a few days. She was not dazed at all. I then had to purchase a shocking collar. Sound (ultrasonic or not) immediately followed with a shock has corrected her behavior. After a few shocks, the dog will learn to respond to the sound alone.
