My australian cattledog has an illness which makes it difficult to regulate her body temp. She prefers to lay on the floor of the shower - I thought by getting this bed that she would spend more time with me. She refuses to lay on. I have tried all kinds of things to get her to lay on it but as soon as that water moves or makes any kind of noise - off she goes. The same goes for my other two. They refuse to use it. They snatch the treat and off they go to some other area. It's been a futile effort.

I have a black-tri Aussie who is hot all the time. She is constantly seeking out a cool spot to lay. With 90 and 100 degree weather and no AC, I was worried she would get over-heated this summer. The cool bed was a welcome relief to the heat! She loves this bed and sleeps on it all night long. It's also easy to move around, even when it is filled with water. My Aussie gives this wonderful product four paws up! I wish they made one in my size!

This bed arrived on a 90 degree day. I was gardening and my dog was tagging along. I opened the box, read the directions, filled the bed from my garden hose, patted the bed and invited my springer spaniel to try it out. She lay down, flopped over on her side and stayed there sleeping peacefully while I went about my gardening. I train her for hunt tests and this is something we do all year around. She becomes heated quickly so we are now using this bed to cool off. She understands it is a good thing. Thanks for the bed K&H and Amazon

it does what it says, although my dog didn't really seem to care for it much. got it about half the price of most other places on amazon.

When my retriever-poodle developed an autoimmune disease, her joints hurt. The high-dose prednisone used to treat the disease caused her to pant heavily and seek the coolest surfaces -- usually the bathroom tile floor. So I wanted to find a bed that would not only provide soft comfort, but also the cooling she needed.
This worked! After a few weeks of occasionally placing treats on it, she got used to the water motion and started using the bed regularly. I purchased the largest size bed, plus the optional bolster/cover, and placed it in our shaded, enclosed porch.
I've known several dog-owners who've bought other brands of this type bed and didn't like them. Others who bought this one and said their dog never used it. My advice is to get this one, and then to use some form of positive reinforcement to get your dog over the initial wariness of the water motion.
