Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Presents Turid Rugaas working on her own home turf, doing what she does best, communicating with dogs. She shows footage of many calming signals, and how dogs use them. She also shows us how people can use calming signals in their own interactions with dogs. You'll enjoy visiting Turid's own dogs and those of her clients, while seeing her in action on her beautiful farm in the fjords of Norway. This is the DVD format and companion to the popular book, "On Talking Terms with Dogs." Note - this is not a professionally filmed DVD rather one done by dedicated amateur dog people however it does a good job of illustrating the canine body language subjects it addresses.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A good combination - I just love Turid Rugaas   July 31, 2008
Turid Rugaas opened the door and set the ball rolling on the science of reading canine body language. The book was always a good read, the updated version being so much better with the photos and the extra bits she has added. The DVD is a little amaturish but I feel provides a good compliment to the book for those kenetic types that need to have something to look at rather than just read about.
Turid may not present things in a glossy manner (in fact I feel she is self effacing) but she is passionate with what she does. Going by the improvement she has made with the book - perhaps she will update that video soon too but I didn't have a problem with the video as I felt it helped me connect with the book even better.

I had been looking forward to reviewing this DVD in anticipation of better understanding one of my dogs. With the price of this DVD, you would expect a better quality of video. It looked like someone's home movie. It was only 45 minutes long and trust me, it seemed longer.

The one good tidbit in the whole thing was to yawn to calm down a dog. Of course my husband and I both tried that suggestion to no avail. I would not recommend this movie for anyone unless you paid less than $5.00. Very irritating music.
