Many modern homes have up-to-date clocks or mini weather stations that depend on radio-transmitted data to stay calibrated and current. The La Crosse TX6U works outdoors by sensing temperature and transmitting that information to an indoor station. It can transmit to a base up to 80 feet away. The TX6U can be added to augment information coming to La Crosse units already in operation. Remove batteries from base units first and activate sensors; then replace batteries in base units and press no buttons until a display appears. Multiple sensors can be assigned a number so that it will be clear which information from which sensor is displayed. The TX6U operates on two AA batteries. Its housing is made of durable, neutral-tone plastic. For options in wall mounting, two screws and screw anchors and a strong adhesive tape are included. The TX6U measures 5-1/2 by 1-1/2 by 1 inch. La Crosse provides a one-year limited warranty on its sensors. Each sensor comes with a detailed instruction sheet. --Garland Withers

I am very pleased with the service and the item I have received.. I had some construction done on my home and I think the remote got knocked off my porch and I was at a loss for where to find another one. But the company came through and I now have my outdoor temperature back on my clock.
Company seems good and reliable for my needs.

I ordered this remote sensor to replace one for a 5 or 6 year old Weather Channel branded indoor-outdoor weather station. It worked right out of the box (once I added batteries). Great product at a good price.

Purchased this remote sensor to replace my 5 yr old original sensor that came with the Atomic wall clock. Works as well and accurate as the original. By the way, the clock still works fine.

I needed a replacement for my TX4U outdoor Temp/Humidity sensor that came with my WS-8025U indoor station. After a year or more of being outside where it was supposed to be, the TX4U TH sensor got rained on one too many times, shorted the batteries, and gave up the ghost. I got fair use from it, but basically for a unit designed to measure humidity, it should have been impervious to water damage of any sort, let alone rain! I started to search online for a replacement. Not a word appears on the LaCrosse site about this sensor having been discontinued, or suggesting an alternative. A half a day of searching elsewhere online, I finally learned that the TX4U was no longer produced, BUT NO SUGGESTION WAS MADE ANYWHERE AS TO A PROPER FUNCTIONAL REPLACEMENT THAT WOULD WORK WITH MY SPECIFIC WEATHER STATION. Another day of searching around, and I found one reviewer, I believe on Amazon, who said the TX6U sensor had worked with a LaCrosse WS that had formerly used a TX4U. By this time, I was pretty fed up with the fact that I had to find a buried customer reviewer to even give me a clue regarding what I could use as a replacement. I did not notice that the TX6U was just a T, not a TH (never spelled out, but soon enough deciphered as Temperature AND Humidity sensor). Tired of hunting, I ordered the TX6U based on the review that at least told me it might work with a WS-8025U.
When the package arrived, the packing invoice clearly said it was what I had ordered. But, the box contained an entire weather station, a WS 7025U Wireless 433Mhz Radio-controlled Weather Station. I was furious, and overly impatient and did not notice that also in the box was the TX6U outdoor sensor. After dashing off a quick complaint that this was not what I had ordered, I discovered some small print (frankly, I'm not sure where) that told me the 7025U was a freebee that came with the TX6U I had ordered because, again, I later found out, they only had the whole system, and preferred not to separate them for sensor only orders; I could keep the WS and there was no extra charge for it -- even I didn't need it. Meantime, due to my earlier hasty email, I got a phone message from Gabby at LaCrosse (it sounded like Kathy), and would I call her back at a mumbled number the last two digits of which were indecipherable. I called the company number, got the endless telephone tree, ultimately explaining to the returns guy that I was trying to reach Kathy; he figured out this was Gabby, then straightened me out on the freebee deal. Later, another call came from Gabby (at least they care at this company, and you can talk to human beings), and again, it was explained that I had ordered only a Temperature gauge, but got a WS for free. In the middle of dinner, yet another call came from LaCrosse, this time it was some guy who immediately launched into a complaint about the 1 star review I had given the product, and when I started to explain, he argued and argued! I finally hung up on him and finished dinner. There can be a down side to human contact with Customer Service! Bottom line: I kept the entire system; the TX6U works but is not really what I wanted (that turns out to be the TX7U, but I don't want to spend another $30 or more for at this point), and the main reason why is because LaCrosse does not state clearly on its web site what replacement parts are appropriate for their incredible long list of WS products. So, read very carefully, when you finally find the info you need, before committing to a purchase.

I have owned 3 of the La Crosse weather stations and within a year + or - the outdoor sensor FAILS! Doesn't matter if you change the batteries either. I would not recomend La Crosse to any one!
