Product Description The KandH Ice Eliminator is the first birdbath heater that looks like it belongs in a birdbath. It safely maintains open water to 20 degrees below zero Fahrenheit, giving bird watchers year-round wild bird activity. Its natural color and 18 cord blend in with nearly every birdbath. It can also be spray painted to match your birdbath. Virtually indestructible, its durable enamel finish is easy to clean. Thermostatically controlled and using only 50 watts, the Ice Eliminator is completely safe to handle and use, even in plastic birdbaths.

Bird Bath Heater Performance March 11, 2008 This heater does a very good job of keeping the water clear of ice. However the water must be shallow enough (not much deeper that the heater is thick)to work well. When the water is shallow it does work very well. The cord is extremely short for our application and I would think that would be the case for most applications. We had to purchase an additional short, outdoors extension cord. I think the cord on the heater is about 18 inches long. It would be much better if it were at least 36 inches long.
Bird Bath Heater works great! February 25, 2008 This 50W heater works great. Looks like a stone (other heaters are ugly metal contraptions) and uses a trickle of electricity (other heaters use 3 to 5 times as much).
K&H Bird Bath Ice Eliminator February 8, 2008 The K&H Bird Bath Ice Eliminator has performed as expected. I put it in a large plastic bowl and it has kept the water open even during the -20 degrees in MN. It seems to be well sealed and the cord is substantial. Also,I like the low-wattage thermostat feature.
Works like it should February 8, 2008 This replaces a foil type birdbath heater that we had for about 2 years. While it was more expensive than our first, it seems much sturdier and better made. It is quite heavy, but we still use a rock to anchor it in the bath. It doesn't thaw all the water in the bird bath, but a good portion of it. It's our first winter using this, so we will see how well it holds up to the Midwest winter.
K&H Bird Bath Ice Eliminator January 28, 2008 This product works great!! My bird bath is now ice free all winter long and the birds are loving it!
