Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The USB to DB25 IEEE-1284 Printer Cable by Cables To Go enables a parallel printer to be connected to a USB port on a PC or hub. This is ideal for computers without a parallel port or in order to free up the parallel port for a Zip drive or scanner. Forget the hassles of IRQ sharing by adapting your high-speed printer to USB. If you have multiple printers, you can eliminate the need for a switchbox by connecting each printer to a USB port. The device is fully transparent to the user and is ideal for true bi-directional communication.

2 out of 5 stars LPT 2 USB Cable   November 11, 2009
Kevin J. Cossentine (Upstate NY, USA)
I was looking for an adapter cable for my Iomega Zip 100 external drive to use with my Vista laptop. It connects but doesn't let me use it as a parallel to USB configuration to transfer data to or from it. It does have a clean look to it and not too long.

5 out of 5 stars Works for old HP printer   November 6, 2009
S. Harrison
We have some old HP 1100 printers in our office. These have a half-pitch parallel port, so we needed an adapter that could connect to the existing cable. I hooked up this adapter to the existing printer cable, plugged it into an XP laptop USB port, and Windows set up the printer right away. I didn't need to load anything from the CD or change the port type assignment like others have had to do. However, if the printer cable gets moved to another USB port, it creates a duplicate printer entry. Just have to delete the old one and set the new one to the default.
This adapter is a great way to keep an old but working printer in use.

5 out of 5 stars Works great - if you get an error message   October 4, 2009

This worked great for converting my Laserjet 6P to a USB port. If you get an error message when trying to print, go to printer devices and change the port from LPT1 to USB and it will work like a charm.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome price!   September 30, 2009

The cable was basically plug and play. I didn't have to download any drivers. I recently bought a brand new computer and I didn't realize that it didn't have the port to plug in my old HP laser printer. I went to Walmart and Best Buy and the prices were too high so I was just going to sell my printer. But when I went online, I decided to check Amazon and the price was amazing. I am very happy with my purchase!
