Nice looking pencil, but could be more comfortable February 20, 2010 EKPNR (McHenry, Illinois USA) The looks of the Pentel Kerry won't disappoint -- it really looks great. But, after writing for a while, I found the all-metal barrel uncomfortable, particularly when my hand had some sweat. Having a rubberized portion in the grip area would go a long way.
Another area for improvement is the eraser, which is small, and covered by a cap that is hard to remove. My fingers would slip on the cap's smooth chrome finish, particularly because the cap is held tightly by the pencil.
Overall, this is a good pencil. The writing is great and it has a nice solid feel. But if you are going to be doing a lot of writing and want something comfortable and practical, you might want to look elsewhere.
Pentel Sharp Kerry May 17, 2009 D. Blakley (Menomonie, WI. USA) I use a pencil at work, and I go thru alot of the cheap plastic units you buy at the discount store. This unit is of a quality you won't find at the discount stores. When you pick it up, there is a metallic heft to it that gives you a warm fuzzy feeling. I bought 2 of these, being used to always needing a spare, but I doubt very much I will ever wear out the first one. This is one of those rare purchases I have made that makes me feel like I received alot more than what I paid for. 2 thumbs up !
It goes everywhere with me. March 11, 2009 Christopher J. Dubea (Reston, VA USA) Combine this with my Moleskine Calender and I've got the ultimate "Get It Done" combination. It's a great pencil that won't destroy your clothes or inflict you with puncture wounds. Yes the eraser leaves a bit to be desired, but what mechanical pencil eraser doesn't?
Highly recommended and this is an excellent price.
Love this pencil March 2, 2009 Terry Hill (Northern VA) This pencil is sleek and stylish. The two-piece construction means you won't have sharp edges to poke through shirt pockets. I started carrying a pencil because they are more reliable than pens for notetaking and I love this pencil.
A very durable mechanical pencil January 10, 2009 K. Perry (Austin, TX) I got one of these to supplement the Pentel that I got 20 years ago. It's still in near perfect shape and still absolutely perfect mechanically. There's some very minor chipping of the enamel around the base of the cap, but you have to look for it to find it.
In short, what's the downside here? The biggest risk you're going to have is that you're going to lose this pencil. It's a daily user in my home office.
