Brasileiro August 5, 2008 Excellent 1992 collection of Brazilian drummers, singers, and songwriters then mixed and sweetened in L.A. by Sergio Mendez and some top drawer West Coast jazz musicians.
Sunshine on a ' cloudy day". November 13, 2007 I fell in love with Sergio Mendes & Brasil66 back in the day, because the music was fresh and different from the Soul and R&B that was usually on the Radio or Stereo... Anyways, listening to "Brasileiro", with the opening sounds of Carnival drums, I felt lifted. To anyone who reads this review, the only thing I can is if you know any one who has this disc, pop it in your CD, or better yet, drive and let the rhythmns take you away.
Sergio Mendez does Brazil April 10, 2007 I was a fan of Sergio Mendez since his trio days, then Brazil 65, 66, etc. So, I would say this CD is for his fans or those who want an anthology of Brazilian music.
The CD is essentially a collection of different Brazilian music forms. Personally, I rather missed his usual jazzy, Bossa Nova, or Samba style on the CD.

I came across the CD accidentally and I love it. It is Timeless and shows the bridge between the African and South American continents. Powerful drumming and great ENERGY!!! Highly recommended
If you say Brazilian music drives you crazy, this CD is for you! October 25, 2006 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Sergio Mendes is to Brazilian music, what the Beatles are for modern Rock & Pop music. He is a master in Bossa Nova, Samba, Batucada, and other wonderful Brazilian rhythms. Mendes has wisely followed the advice to catch the All-American taste since he was under Herb Alpert in A&M records. In "Brasileiro" Sergio Mendes gives a fair treatment to all his musical influences, both Brazilian and U.S. The result... You have to listen it! It is captivating!
