good album June 7, 2008 Her song are all well written, shes nice lyricaly than most of these spanish rappers out nnow, she should make some song with Calle 13, tego, voltio & orishas. Her flow is sick !!!
The dopest female MC on the planet September 22, 2007 I read on some hip hop site that if Mala rapped in english and was from the US she'd be hailed as the dopest MC on the planet. I have to 100% agree.
There isn't a female rapper (that i've heard) in English or in Spanish that rhymes with such venom and such a great flow as Mala. She just speaks with authority.
Further, I just love the fact she wears tight dresses, short skirts, is damn hot and still raps about respect... It's just believable. The women is hot and educated.
I'm digging the old school hip hop beats, i'm digging her rapid fire delivery, i'm digging the guest stars on the album... it's just great.
Standout tracks... "Te Convierto" with Raimundo Amador. I'm a flamenco man so for the uninitiated, Amador was a guitarist/singer for the legendary flamenco rock fusion groups Veneno and then Pata Negra. Full on old school beats on this one. with Amador playing some rock/blues guitar on it. It works.
"Enfermo" with Tego Calderon. Tego is the best rapper in Reggaeton hands down. As usual he spits the truth and outshines Mala. Mala does justice and its no shame to be outdone by Tego. The fact is he's one of the best MC's on the planet in any language... period!
And then I really dig Menos Tu, Caida Libre, La Loca...
Nanai was the first single and the obvious commercial choice with it's American stylings a la Timbaland... it's ok, just not up to the other stuff.
I can't wait for her next work.

With Malamarismo, it feels like La Mala has finally come into her own - she has ditched the flamenco flavor and the result is a sound that is totally unique. The rhythms are complex, the lyrics are clever, the synths (when used) are warm, and her voice is still incredible. To those looking to find something a little different than the generic garbage from Hollywood, I can't recommend this highly enough. This is by far my favorite CD of 2007. Standout tracks include Dejame Entra, Memorias Del Futuro, and Menos Tu.

Mala Rodriguez is not yet BIG ENOUGH to be a hit in the U.S. BUT she is big enough within the latino community and YET is HUGE in Spain as she is CONSIDERED a PIONEER for women in hip-hop as one of the few in the latin hip hop community. Since her first debut in 1999, Mala has come far to prove she has the chops to make it big! I remember first hearing her in the 'Scarface' PS2 video game when I was playing it and it caught my ear and yet I was bobbing my head to the funky rhythm of 'La Nina'
Hey best songs by far on this album is 'Nanai' (think of it as a hint of Timbaland beats with a catchy phrase saying in spanish 'look into my eyes do you want me to die, na-na-nai, I won't let you make me DIE!). Its as if she KNOWS of others that want to stop her in her tracks to stardom and the one with Tego Calderon (another fine reggaeton artist) on 'Enfermo'.
Although she hasn't QUITE got that hook on what she is trying to state on her 3rd effort album, nonetheless, she is making a statement that she is here to stay and to get that respect not only as a WOMAN but also to the latin hip hop community.
