Besides the obvious AC/DC comparisons, Airborne also sounds like... August 9, 2008 ...like early Def Lep, Fastway and Cinderella. The vocalist (besides going for the total early Brian Johnson thing) comes off sounding like a yelling Sam Kinison at times, and at others more like Sebastian Bach of skid row. More recently the band Jet also redid this ac/dc sound, though not as metallish. Regardless, new bands copying old styles verbatim will not have a long shelf life and just be a novelty that will wear thin soon. Will you really be listening to this 2 years from now? I mean I'd pay $5 to see Airborne in a local bar every once in a while, but that's it, because they just sound like a decent generic bar band doing faux ac/dc pretty good, which ain't hard to do in the first place.
kick A$$ August 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
ok first of all we get it, theres an AC/DC influence but not everybody needs to say it, this album will blow past any expectations i dont care how high your standards are, this is straight up pure rock n roll PERIOD!!! they have there very own MUCH NEEDED sound as well its good to hear that not everybody is following the Nickelback path and blending in. These guys are the real deal they are probably the only band out right now that sounds like 70's and 80's pure rock, and what sets them apart from the 70's, 80's sound is the good idea of leaving the ballads out. and what seperates them from this generation is the fact they dont blend in with every band on the radio which is why these guys stand out, but dont take my word for it just buy the damn album!!!
Good Ol' Rock " Roll July 11, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
In a world dominated by hip- hop and so- called "nu- metal," it's great to see a new trend developing in rock music- there are several bands rising up right now pumping out some excellent rock 'n roll. Airbourne returns to the roots of good ol' rock 'n roll that ruled the airwaves back in the 70's (arguably the best era of rock music).
There's nothing deep or introspective about this album- it's all about boozing it up and getting laid. It's Friday night party music, and there's not a weak track on the entire album.
No doubt that some people will dismiss this band as AC/DC "wannabees" or crticised for being a one-trick pony (none of the songs really deviate from one another: it's all the classic 3- chord progressive rock much in the vain of AC/DC). However, the music is very tight and there are some excellent (albeit short) guitar riffs. This is a talented group of musicians. More importantly, this album really lifts the spirits and gets you popping open those cans of beer. It's what rock 'n roll is meant to be. Excellent!
Standout tracks include: "Stand Up For Rock'Roll" "Runnin' Wild" "Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast" "Blackjack" "What's Eating You" "Heartbreaker"

AC'DC wannabes is all i can say! you can't redo ac'dc and this guy sounds like hes tryin to match brian johnson and its just so annoying. i can tell that yeh obviously everyone else likes this cd because its classic rock and i love 80's rock but...be something else. dont copy a band that will never ever be matched!
God Almighty, Rock 'n' Roll July 4, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
God, this is great music. I just got it an hour or so ago and have already played through it once, so I don't have an in depth review, but God Almighty does this kick a** in the royal tradition of the best of AC/DC. I think after I've played it 10 times I'll still think it is better than any AC/DC since Back in Black. I think even my 49 year old wife was diggin' it. Rejoice! I want more of this now. ROCK!
