Album Description This CD guides you through a process that relaxes your entire body, and allows your body to access its natural strengths. It begins with quieting your body and practicing deep breathing. From there, the listener is slowly guided through relaxing each part of the body. The verbal description emphasizes how to release bodily tension and replace it with feelings of ease and well-being. The CD ends with a suggestion to sleep and rest. In 20 minutes, you can reduce your stress at work or help yourself fall asleep at night at home. There are three 20 minute tracks on the CD. The guided script is the same for all three tracks. The difference among the tracks is the background sounds. One has relaxing music. Another has the sound of the ocean. The third has voice only. You can try all three to see which one works best for you.

The guided meditation is alright but very short. If I realized this I wouldn't have bought it.

My passport photo of ten years ago made me look ten years older than my newest one. Why? Simply stated, on-the-job stress and the boss from Hell. If you find yourself similarly stressed regardless of the source, I heartily recommend a dose of Dr. Heidi Minnick's "Guided Relaxation for the Body and Mind."
If you feel the need for genuine healing relaxation, you'll find it here with three choices available to you: Dr. Minnick's soothing guidance against a background of ocean waves, her voice accompanied by a low-key musical composition and finally, my preference, her calming voice alone. All three accomplish their purpose.
I was fortunate enough to receive Dr. Minnick's CD as a gift and, although I could have used it years earlier, it does its magic today. I readily suggest you do yourself a favor now and treat yourself or someone you love to her very effective relaxation technique while at the same time increasing the chances of adding healthier, more creative years to your/their life. Should you be in doubt about this last statement, take the time to check the mortality statistics on people who use relaxation techniques and meditate contrasted with the general population. As the label suggests, guided relaxation is good for the body and mind.

I highly recommend this relaxation CD by Dr. Minnick to all health professionals who are looking for adjunctive help for their clients/patients in need of stress management. My clients reported that Dr. Minnick's voice was so calming and reassuring that they used it not only for stressful times, but also on a regular basis to aid them in their meditation/relaxation practices. I have received such positive feedback from my clients on this CD that I now recommend it before any other relaxation media I have used in the past.

Dr. Minnick's calm voice and guided imagery are both extremely soothing. I have listened to many CDs on relaxation, and find Dr. Minnick's approach to be the most useful. This CD has the added benefit of offering relaxation sequences with music, waves, or voice only. A must for anyone trying to reduce tension!

Start the New Year with a total body relaxation meditation. I listened to the CD and found it to be exactly what I was looking for. I was coached by Dr. Minnick into a deep and restful place. Her voice is calm and direct. I even fell asleep at the end of the meditation! I plan on having this CD be a part of my daily routine for 2007. I Owe It To Myself. Any you do too!!
