Description 1982 found Mink DeVille in the middle of the transition from their CBGB's New York punk origins to a more subtle, rootsier sound blending soul, R & B, Cajun and other influences. Led by Willy DeVille, whose unique style and inimitable gravelly voice always made them stand out from the crowd, Mink DeVille released their first album in 1977 and immediately had a huge hit with the track "Spanish Stroll". By the time of this appearance at Montreux in 1982 they were touring in support of the fourth album "Coup De Grace" and the show features tracks from across their career to that point as well as a couple of unreleased gems including their cover of the Ben E. King classic "Stand By Me". TRACK LISTING 1) Harlem Nocturne 2) Slow Drain 3) Savoir Faire 4) Cadillac Walk 5) She' So Tough 6) Mixed Up, Shook Up Girl 7) Just Your Friends 8) Love & Emotion 9) Maybe Tomorrow 10) This Must Be The Night 11) Teardrops Must Fall 12) Love Me Like You Did Before 13) Spanish Stroll 14) Lipstick Traces 15) O Yeah (Improvisation) 16) Stand By Me

NICE EARLY SHOW.... May 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'VE BEEN A FAN OF MINK DEVILLE AND LATER WILLY DEVILLE FOR A LONG TIME AND WAS EXCITED WHEN I HEARD OF THIS DVD. OVERALL, THIS IS A VERY GOOD EARLY SHOW OF TH BAND. I FIRST SAW THIS BAND IN 1984 AND WAS BLOWN AWAY. EVEN THIS DVD DOESN'T FULLY SHOW ALL THE BANDS TALENT.BUT FOR NOW ALL WE HAVE IS THIS SET OF THE EARLY STUFF.
