| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Time will not stand still as you listen to the bamboo and alto flute music of Richard Warner, but it will seem far less relevant as your mind gradually adjusts to the spaciousness and generous silences that adorn the extended notes found in Warner's ethereal improvisations. Urban dwellers should allow themselves a few moments of deep-breathing decompression to detach themselves from their multi- tasking mindsets before tuning in Warner's slow-motion sonic excursions. Otherwise, you may find his music at first to be oddly jarring, so peaceful and gentle is his playing. Yoga adherents and massage enthusiasts should find much to admire in this two-CD set, a remastered repackaging of two releases from 1982's Quiet Heart and 1984's Spirit Wind. The double CD includes four new selections, bringing the set's combined playing time to more than 93 minutes. On the wooden floors beneath giant vaulted ceilings in Seattle's Holy Names Academy, Warner first performed solo, then returned two years later to play with minimal accompaniment from tuned crystal glasses. Both projects, particularly Spirit Wind, succeed by achieving and sustaining moods of stillness and restful clarity that, while well-suited to yoga ideals, can also be appreciated away from the mat. Meditative flute music has the potential to strike Occidental ears as shrill, discordant, brittle, or exotic to the point of distraction. Not so with Warner's projects. He typically avoids piercing high notes and prefers to explore tones in a comfortable mid-range that allow his ambient works, most notably Spirit Wind's 18-minute "Moonlight on the Mountain," to sustain a lovely atmosphere of undisturbed calm. --Terry Wood

Quiet Heart/Spirit Wind September 21, 2008 I just love it. It is beautiful, relaxing music & I would buy other CD's that Richard Warner has out in the future. In Fact, I am listening to it right now. Beautiful.
Nice December 5, 2007 I like this CD. Its very soothing if you like the gentle flute music.
I adore these cds December 1, 2007 I am not a big fan of new age music. These cds are so gorgeous, however. The sound of wind chimes on Spirit Wind is subtle and perfect. The tones of the flute are not distracting which makes these cds ideal for meditation. When I went to my acupuncturist I found the new age music he played incredibly distracting as I tried to follow the melody, anticipate notes, and guessed what the tune was underlying the new age layers. (In one case, the tune was Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, btw.) I began bringing these cds to his office with me to complement my time of relaxing and meditation during my treatment. I would encourage potential buyers to listen to the samples and if they appeal then you can buy with confidence knowing that you will love these cds as much as I.
By far the best music for quiet meditation October 28, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have tried a number of different CD's for meditation and this is by far the best. I highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to retreat from the noisy physical world and find his or her center.
This is a gift October 3, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
for yet another dear Friend ... I have owned two copies over the years myself and this is the fourth set I have purchased to give as a gift. I cannot compliment the artist and producers enough, this is truly Five Star material!
