5 out of 5 stars BEST CREED Album EVER! Best Rock Album This Decade!   November 19, 2009
Ronnie W. Aldridge
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

Wow! CREED, the band even Jesus hates! (so the saying goes). I know the above Title is gonna mightily upset the "creed haters" who get their jollies by logging on here just to crucify Creed. Just because they sold 30 gazillion records, it ain't their fault they were over-marketed. I have always been a "casual" creed fan until i heard "Full Circle". What an appropriate title, as they have truly come "full circle" after all the inner bickering and mishaps that almost destroyed them. Not many bands have broken up for 9 years and come back to make their finest record. (not to mention in an un-heard of 2 month's time!) That is rare! Mark Tremonti said that this is their finest work, so it's not just coming from me. He also said that the best is yet to come. It would have to be some great work to top this though.

Scott is in his finest form and proves yet again that he is deserving of one of the top 10 voices in rock history. And I believe that he and Tremonti are in the top 10 best song writers of all time in rock. There is something here for everyone on this record. It ranges from the "straight in your face" rock of "Overcome" and "Suddenly", to beautiful acoustical Led Zeppelin type riffs in "A Thousand Faces" and "Time", to "bring tears to your eyes" type ballads like "Away in Silence", to friendly radio future "sing along" hits like "Rain". Mark Tremonti provides some mighty great background vocals, and proves his voice should have been utilized more than they were on past albums.

Thank goodness we have some great rock to listen to now! Now if we could just put the final bullet into rap/hip-hop it would be a great way to end the decade. BUY THIS ONE!!! And get the bonus one with the DVD included!

4 out of 5 stars No Speculation Needed   November 16, 2009
Madison Lastrega (Biddeford ME)
I first heard this album on rhapsody. I listened to the album and truly enjoyed the familiar "Creed" sound. I will say this will be another hit, and was "Creed" style all the way, I wanted to get the postive out there and give credit were it is due.
Now the Bad, after reading many reviews (including the one on Rhapsody). It has been said that there is some speculation on the reunion, after all Scott and Mark hate one another. Are all of you joking right? Speculation, very funny. "Creed went down in the books as a sellout band that used Christians to make mucho bread, and they did:) Now, don't get me wrong "Creed's" music and Scott Stapp's vocals were, and still are the highlight of the late 90's, but the way they treated the fans and one another was soooooo not Christian. they left thier fans as quickly and as empty handed as they entered. Remember Scott's solo album? Yeah me niether. No "Creed" fans wanted to hear the sell out try to make amends to hurt "Creed" fans. Anyway, lets cut to the chase here. A prostitute usualy don't like the pimp. Sometimes they even leave the pimp, but when the chips are down they know they can make money with the pimp right? Right. well after 8 years with no support and no money, Scott and Mark's houses and cars property taxes are sure to be high as can be, right now with the economy and all, right? Right. So they bit the bullet, and made "Creed" music to apease thier check book and the masses. Got it simple logic, no speculation.
"dey wuz po" end of story. Let's see how much God gets this time around.

4 out of 5 stars A new sound, and their best work since My Own Prison!   November 15, 2009
Michael Casaceli (An Airfield in New England... no really :))
Lets face it... between the album "Weathered", Scott's antics, and only one-hit from the oddly named "Alter Bridge" supergroup, it was uncool to like Creed: This album changes that. The simple way to describe this album is to say that "Daughtry" and "Shinedown" had a love-child that was adopted by "Creed", and it sounds like this album.

"Overcome", the first track and first hit of the album, and has one of Mark Tremonti's best guitar solos, dare I say as good as "Open Their Eyes" from "Alter Bridge". He goes nuts on this song, and nails it! (see the music video for "Overcome")

"Bread of Shame" isn't one you'll hear on the airwaves. I think they could have made the chorus a little more catchy, but overal, not a bad song.

"A Thousand Faces"... EPIC, EPIC, EPIC!!! This is the first of many great acoustic-focused songs on this album, and is the longest song on the album as well. Frankly, I can see this song winning a Grammy... I would bet money on it. Scott Stapp goes for a more familiar vocal tone, but the interesting part is... Mark Tremonti does AMAZING background vocals during the chorus, and it makes me want him to be tapped for vocals more in future albums. In addition, Mark does another great solo, and this time does it while Scott is singing, and it creates an amazing blend for the ending. The lyrics are heart stopping, the vocals are breathtaking, and the instrumentals are near perfection. This is the greatest song on this album, and the greatest song by this band! Simple as that!

I could go on and on about each track, but really, the first three sum it up. They've departed from the sound they had on "Human Clay" and "Weathered", and evolved into something truly noteworthy (no pun intended). The increased amount of acoustic work is a thing of beauty. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could... I can't give it 5 because I felt they could have groomed a few of the tracks better, like I mentioned with "Bread of Shame", some of it could have been given more effort, but also (for example) I can hear a few spots on the album where they let the guitar feedback go too long, and it becomes more of an annoyance than an enhancement.

I commend them for creating such great work in 2 months... but another month would have been worth the wait to achieve perfection across the board.

5 out of 5 stars Wish granted!!!   November 13, 2009
~k~ (Nazareth PA United States)
I just received the new Full Circle CD in the mail and I have to say that I am VERY happy that Creed got back together to put out another album. We missed you!!!

Old Creed fans will find Full Circle has a closer sound to Weathered then My Own Prison or Human Clay. Maybe the brief time apart has enlighten them because Creed certainly has matured as a band...

The new album will probably bring new Creed fans who are looking for a refreshing change from some of the dull rock bands that get airplay. It might even inspire new Creed fans to check out the other Creed albums as well. I'm sure if you didn't know who Creed was before now, after listening to their old stuff you'll probably recognize some of the songs.

My wife and I got tickets to see Creed this past summer in NJ when they started the new tour. They played much of their old songs and through in Full Circle and Overcome to the delight of the crowd watching. There were many tears shed that night (not by me) because their songs have a way of touching the heart and souls of each person in the crowd. My Sacrifice suddenly had a completely different meaning for all of us...

Hello my friend we meet again...
it's been a while where should we begin?
Feels like forever.
Within my heart are memories...
of perfect love that You gave to me.
Oh, I remember.

[chorus]
When you are with me
I'm free, I'm careless,I believe
Above all the others
We'll fly
This brings tears, to my eyes
My sacrifice

Listen to the samples if you must, but you will not be disappointed if you decide to buy the album.
