SOMEWHERE ELSE is the dream project of Killian Mansfield, a 15-year-old ukulele wizard from Woodstock, NY who is battling a rare form of cancer. Eclectic, uplifting, fun and funky, SOMEWHERE ELSE is a mix of songs performed by Killian with critically acclaimed singers and musicians including Dr. John, Kate Pierson, John Sebastian, Todd Rundgren and Levon Helm. Proceeds benefit the Killian Mansfield Foundation, which supports and promotes Integrative Therapies for children with cancer. This will grow and grow on you. It's positively addicting and definitely takes you "somewhere else"...what an accomplishment for a young man....it's obvious a lot of love went into this...tough to pick a favorite track here...they all have their unique sound. Perfect!

I am a little late in the game hearing about Killian Mansfield. My husband read the New York magazine article and then bought the album. i am so glad he did. It is truly beautiful and full of heart. I spent this whole afternoon painting in my studio and listening to this album CRANKED UP! I had an amazing time and sang along with all of it. It was on repeat for several hours . I think it is an excellent addition to anyone's music collection . This album stands alone without knowing anything about this story. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!

I happened across a link about this young man and his album. I would have been willing to accept a "loving hands at home" album. The articles all cited him as a child prodigy and - cynic that I am - I thought, "well, that's sweet." THIS KID WAS A RARE TALENT. Listening to the choices, the taste, experiencing the complete MUSICAL effect (totally divorced from knowing the source of the album) makes it unimaginable that he is gone from us. THIS IS MUSIC TO LIVE WITH. I'm so glad he was able to hang in there long enough to hear the finished result. I have thousands of albums. About 15 of them get to be in constant rotation in my life. NOW I HAVE ONE MORE. Listen. Buy it. Enjoy it endlessly!

This collection is put together by many feathers. You could dance, cry, sing and make love to this amazing production. I hope that it gets a grammy, a few of these tracks will have have to be nominated. Start the emails...
