Favorite CD So Far This Year! November 17, 2009 Nstang (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love every song on this album, but September is definitely my favorite, closely followed by Open Up Your Eyes. I've been listening to it since it came out, and still haven't grown tired of it. I especially like how they added some country flavor to it. Awesome work Daughtry!
This Town Like a Million Other Towns November 15, 2009 Tim Brough (Springfield, PA United States) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
What do you get when you formulate Bon Jovi + Nickleback divided it by 1/8th Nashville? You get the second album by Daughtry. Chris Daughtry, the most successful loser on American Idol, likes his grunge-lite and radio friendly, even while he and his mates pose like bad boys. The little girls may understand, the boys get the faux menace, and the moms raised on Bon Jovi and Bad Company just might dig them, too. As the lead single states, "No Surprise" indeed.
Daughtry likes their hooks thick and melodic, which makes all the songs here easy to digest. And Chris is a solid songwriter, with both "Ghost Of Me" and "Life After You" really good songs. There's just not much here that you haven't heard a thousand times before, done better. I get no sense that Daughtry is pushing themselves, although the uber-compressed production would probably bury anything remotely subtle. "Leave This Town" is so wretchedly flat-boxed that I was getting ear-fatigue by the time Vince Gill's country choirboy vocal appeared on "Tennessee Line." (Shades of Bon Jovi and Def Leppard's song with Tim McGraw!)
Bottom line: Did you like the first Daughtry, latest Nickleback or Bon Jovi's Nashville outing? If so, you'll be right at home with "Leave This Town."

This isn't a 1 star album, but it's not 5 either. So to offset these ridiculous reviews I gave it 1 star. For those of you that think this is 5 stars you were probably born in the 90's and don't know any better. No, I'm not a babyboomer either. Just a little older then you. We now live in a world where it is cool to sellout, be as commercial as possible. While I do think Cris Daughtry is talented, I just don't think this album is close to 5 stars. Everybody now wants to be famous, rich, successful. Thats all we care about now. Lets be in Nissan commercials and do whatever it takes. That's not a direct stab at Daughtry by the way. We are products of the time we live in so it's not your fault either.
Daughtry made me change the way I think about music! November 3, 2009 stlpryncess (St. Louis, MO) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Guess what I have in my CD Changer? Usher, Beyonce, Brandy, Ludacris, Kanye (Boo), & Daughtry! Kinda went left there huh? I LOVE this CD! Daughtry has made me change my genre preference! If you can do that, then you are a bad mutha (Shut Yo Mouth!)

I REALLY LIKED CHRIS DAUGHTRY'S 1ST CD AND COULD HARDLY WAIT UNTIL "LEAVE THIS TOWN" CAME OUT! TO MY DELIGHT IT IS JUST AS GOOD AS THE 1ST CD.....MAYBE EVEN BETTER. I WOULD BE HARD PRESSED TO PICK A FAVORITE SONG ON THE CD AS I ENJOY EVERY ONE OF THEM! I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS CD TO FRIENDS AND CERTAINLY TO FANS OF CHRIS DAUGHTRY.
