Don't be put off by a cartoon soundtrack-this is some seriously good road trip music. In keeping with the war theme this Star Wars soundtrack is much more martial while still borrowing heavily from the original John Williams soundtrack. Fans of the orchestral soundtrack found in the movies will not be disappointed by this offering: there is plenty of brass and drum to go around as well as a choir, a la the battle between Darth Maul and Qui Gon Jinn. World music and sitar like instrumentals are at home on this disc also. There is even some heavy metal inspired guitar backgrounds in one track.
Even though The Clone Wars is a cartoon, on a cartoon network, I do not believe it is really for children. The Clone Troopers swear, albeit mildly, and there are plenty of shots of them getting their heads cut off or having to be triaged and air lifted to the field hospital.
Hardcore fans of Star Wars should not be afraid of this soundtrack. I like it better than the soundtrack for 'The Phantom Menace'.

This is a good interpretation of Star Wars. It has that grand style for not being John Williams. Someone can walk into this in the middle of the album and know it is Star Wars. It is a great listen regardless.

Composer Kevin Kiner acknowledges the past, but forges ahead in this new era for the franchise. With the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, Kiner ambitiously presents a solid soundtrack that spans 32 tracks and clocks in at nearly 70 minutes.
The Star Wars Movie Theme & A Galaxy Divided is a gaze to the incredible legacy of the Star Wars universe, but the craft then focuses on Asian-styled motifs, with longer tracks like Battle of Christophsis, Sneaking Under The Shield and B'omarr Monastery building intriguing soundscapes. The pair of numbers - General Loathsom/Battle Strategy, Ahsoka - creatively tell a story.
End Credits places the finishing touches on a foundation that has been set musically to explore fascinating avenues as the animated series moves forward.
