Amazon.com Michael Bublé's assured debut and the tireless year of globe-trotting touring he spent promoting it elevated the 20-something Vancouver native into the first rank of pop crooner revivalists. His sophomore studio follow-up largely turns on the same formula that helped make his considerable vocal prowess so attractive to mainstream audiences, mixing the nigh flawless, if expected Sinatra-channeling ("I've Got You Under My Skin") with more playful and inviting renditions of pop standards like the Gershwin's "A Foggy Day in London Town," "Feeling Good," "Try A Little Tenderness" and Cole Porter's "I've Got You Under My Skin." But it's the eclectic mix of more contemporary material the singer seasons them with -- apt tribute to Bublé hero Bobby Darin -- that keeps him walking the narrow tightrope between artistic intrigue (a blues-tinged vamp of Holland-Dozier-Holland's "How Sweet It Is," Leon Russell's lovely "Song For You," with a guest turn by Chris Botti) and the kitsch-laden abyss ("Quando, Quando, Quando"'s Euro-centric duet with Nelly Furtado, a ring-a-ding-fling with the Beatles' "Can't Buy Me Love" that echoes fellow Canadian crooner/rival Matt Dusk's more successful flirtation with Lennon-McCartney). Arranger/producer Tommy LiPuma offers Bublé a welcome swinging jazz showcase on "The More I See of You," a bracing respite from the rest of producer David Foster's slick, if typically bloodless MOR production. -- Jerry McCulley [Note: A special edition including two bonus tracks--"Dream a Little Dream" and "Mack the Knife"--is also available.] Michael Bublé and More Michael Bublé | Come Fly with Me | Totally Bublé | Come Fly with Me (DVD) | Two Shots | Peter Cincotti |

It Aint Got That Swing November 13, 2009 Scot M. Walker This is my first Michael Bulé album. This guy has a great voice, but the arrangements and his phrasing are all plain vanilla and boring, in my opinion. This is the kind of music a middle-aged White woman who goes to the Meyerson hall in Dallas likes. I put this in the same category as Michael Bolton or Kenny G.
In my opinion, it's all very formula, very predictable, and has no soul.
This is the kind of act I'd expect at Disney World or a cruise ship.
Just a joy to listen to. November 1, 2009 B. Tomlin (Kalamazoo, MI) So many of these songs are standards, but M BubLe
gives them a different romantic, jazzy twist.
Very sexy !
If you missed Sinatra and Bennett the first time around... October 26, 2009 CQ DX (Ohio, USA) Buble is a great throwback pop crooner revivalist! The music is hot, sultry, fun, and swinging! In today's uber stressful and fast paced world, he is a 'godsend'! Many people are yearning for substantive things of yesteryear, when America was a better and saner place in so many regards. Or as the author and futurist Alvin Toffler put it in his monumental (then) book 'Future Shock'... "high tech, vs. high touch". Humans are hankering for a bit of "high touch" these days. My only complaint, and it is an industry-wide one, is that this CD sounds a bit compressed in the recording and mastering process. As a music loving audiophile, with serious equipment to evaluate recordings, I am appalled at how record companies put out substandard product these days! This is true not only of this CD, but most others. They should realize that many listeners out there ARE using good equipment, and expect much better product sound-wise. I'm off my soapbox now.
beautiful sound October 22, 2009 J. Reich what can you say that hasn't already been said about Micheal Buble...this album is great....some oldies some newer
Michael Buble September 24, 2009 Mary B. Jones IF you love Frank Sinatra, you'll love his music. Bought it for a Xmas gift, based on listening to the samples provided by Amazon. Many of his songs are from the early era and refined. My mother in law loves it, but so do I. This is the 4th CD I bought.
