| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com essential recording Michael Jackson was still going for pop hits with 1991's Dangerous, but he also front-loaded the album with six straight Teddy Riley-assisted cuts. This half-hour swoop of tense, aggressive, often angular funk was Jackson's most interesting music since Thriller, and still sounds, well, invincible on this remastered edition. After that, the record's uneven, but there's nothing embarrassing about it, either. "Gone Too Soon," a non-Jackson composition about teen AIDS casualty Ryan White, is a quiet statement (particularly played next to the choir-laden "Heal the World," "Keep the Faith," and "Will You Be There") showing that the star doesn't always have to get showy. The sprightly "Black or White" is explicitly pro-interracial romance, an angle its video didn't go near, and the urgent "Give In to Me" is almost scary. Scary good, that is. --Rickey Wright

Dangerous by Michael Jackson is Dangerously Addctive!! November 13, 2009 Divinity in Motion (Pennsylvania) If you can get past Michael's beautiful eyes on the cover and you proceed to open and play this cd, you will find it is "Dangerously' addictive. I suggest that you buy two copies because you are likely to wear out the first copy playing it over and over again! Once you have the cd, you need to get the Dangerous Short Films dvd as well. The only thing better than the songs on Dangerous, are the songs with their short films and videos accompanying them. I highly recommend Michael Jackson's Dangerous.
Multifaceted Genius! November 3, 2009 Spice Rover (Albany, New York) On this one CD you get your pop, rock, soul! You really understand why Michael is the King of Pop and much more! I knew most of the well known songs; Thriller, Billie Jean, Beat It, e.t.c, but there was so much more that I am just discovering! I had never heard some of the songs on this CD or I might of heard them once on a radio station somewhere but not have known that they were MJ's. For instance, "Give In To Me" - MJ doing hard rock. The companion DCD to this CD is a must have! I am just blown away by all the "new" material I am discovering! I think I now have practically all MJ's songs.
GOD BLESS THE KING!!!
It's Michael; Nothing More need said; FANTASTIC! November 3, 2009 Debra G. Gledhill (North Central Ohio) Luv this CD! Best entertainer ever. He will be hugely missed. I miss him so much.
Artistic Endeavor November 1, 2009 Stephanie (Sacto, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
To me, Dangerous is MJ's most artistic endeavor. There are several songs on here that are stand-alone artistic achievements and speak to his creative mind. The songs I am thinking of are Will You Be There, Keep the Faith, Who is It, Give in to Me and Dangerous. All of these songs have multiple layers in the music, interesting devices such as spoken word, wide ranging vocals and featured instruments such as the electric guitar on Give in to Me. They all have meaningful and complex lyrics.
There weren't a ton of #1 hits on this album, unlike Bad, but the album itself sold extremely well world-wide. The reason is that most of the songs are not "mainstream" but they all have held up over the years. I wouldn't say any of them sound outdated. There were some songs that took me a while to get into - mainly the hard-driving beats in the first few songs. My husband kept saying Dangerous was his favorite MJ album and then I finally took the time to really listen, and now I see why. I now enjoy all of the songs. They are intense. My favorite right now is Keep the Faith, which begins with a beautifully sung intro and then keeps climbing to a crescendo at the end. This album is worth owning in its entirety.
Dangerous Michael Jackson CD October 29, 2009 Sheilah A. Clark (Chicagoland, Illinois) A must have for any music enthusiast. Michael Jackson makes a person wonder how did one person write so many great songs? A must have for anyone young or old.
