| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com essential recording December holds the distinction of single-handedly putting Windham Hill on the map and being the new age album most likely to find its way into music collections of all ilk. In spite of being relentlessly overplayed during the holidays, the solo piano recording has aged quite well. Winston shapes holiday war-horses and original compositions into a captivating contemporary statement. His spare, understated style captures the feel of the dark season, employing ample resonance to evoke a reflective spaciousness. The album's straightforward simplicity conveys both the celebration and quietude that characterize the best of the Yuletide spirit. --Richard Price
Amazon.com A quintessential example of George Winston's "folk piano" style, December speaks to the spirit of the season. Mixing traditional carols, a couple of classical works, and his own originals, Winston drops notes with icy clarity into a winter silence, rippling through "Carol of Bells" and coaxing dark, introspective moods from his own suite, "Night." The pianist's liner notes are also a trip as he cites the numerous sources for his music. Who would've thought that the gentle melodies of "Peace" were inspired by the soundtrack to TV's The Outer Limits? This 20th anniversary edition, which includes two bonus tracks, is a vast sonic improvement over previous releases. --John Diliberto

An Old Friend November 9, 2009 Music Lover (Rhode Island, USA) I've been enjoying "December" since its original release - in fact, my original copy was a vinyl album. Simple yet effective, this is a great CD to listen to when it is dark and snowy. Winter is the best time of the year! A classic.
Excellent! May 27, 2009 Tajalli Moonstar (USA) Excellent timeless music by new age pianist George Winston. One of my favorites. New Age does not have any oldies. One of my newer discoveries I would also recommend is Ola Gjeilo with Stone Rose [Hybrid SACD]. An incredible new talent! Stone Rose is Ola's debut albumc
George Winston is a treasure. March 30, 2009 C. D. (Fairfield, CT United States) Had to replace my old CD and this is perfect. I saw him live a couple of years ago and it was very special. The sound quality is great and for me this is perfect Winter/ Rainy day/ Good night lullaby music! He really captures the outdoors and seasons in a way that is just wonderful. Anyone who has followed Windham Hill knows what a special group they are and all the talented musicians that they have fostered over the years. Really Good Stuff!!!
I AM my mother! February 8, 2009 N. Clemenzi (New Hampshire) Got my new cd and found myself in my kitchen listening to "piano" music and realized I never was fond of this type of music before..but this cd was so peaceful and beautiful...also realized I was making homemade beefstew and never liked this before either.... and it dawned on me....Ahhhh....I am my mother! This CD is worth growing older for!

It never arrived! I was emailed that the owner said that it was not as presented. I now need to challenge the charge on my credit card.
