excellent buy January 26, 2010 Kevin D. Neal This cd is an excellent collage of Christmas music. A very upbeat, energetic and wonderfully arranged musical delight. Classical favorites innoculated with today's vibe and harmonies. This cd is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Handel's Messiah: A Soulful Celebration January 25, 2010 R. J. Pierre-Louis (Queens, NY USA) I love this CD. I lost it years ago. My favorite song is, "And He Shall Purify".
Handel's Standing up in his Grave, Hallelujia! December 24, 2009 G. Ness (Seattle, WA USA) Holy Moses! The Hallelujia Chorus was the Seattle Christmas Ship's transition theme last night when we cruised Bill Gate's Lake Washington and not a foot could keep from stirring. The ship became a pure megadecibel sound source for those huddled together around bonfires on the beach and those in the 18 ship posse trailing the Argosy "Spirit of Seattle". If you hear nothing else this Christmas...start here. All I can say is if Handel himself heard this performance of the chorus--he'd have stood up before King George and shouted, "Thank you, Jesus!"
But Who May Abide...? December 6, 2009 Denise K. Moline (Wake Forest, NC USA) Track 5 on this album ("But Who May Abide the Day of His Coming?") has long been my favorite Christmas "song." No matter how many times I play it, I am overcome with emotion. Tears flow, and my perspective is always renewed. This is an amazing album. Anyone who loves "Messiah" will appreciate yet another example of Quincy Jones' genius. Handel + Quincy = Mega Masterpiece
A Christmas Must Have!!! November 25, 2009 Gala A. Copez-sanders (Cleveland, OH) I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS ALBUM!!! I have lost it, worn it out, scratched it and re-purchased it happily everytime. It is on constant rotation from Thanksgiving thru New years every year. It is a must have for any gospel lover. Hey, its a must have for anyone.
