Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com
Adelmo Fornaciari, aka Zuccero (Sugar), was born in 1955 near Reggio, Italy and grew up fascinated by American blues and R&B. Like so many of his countrymen and women, he exhibits a rare knack for fortunate and widely diverse collaborations. He has worked with Randy Jackson, Narada Michael Walden, Eric Clapton, Brian Auger, Luciano Pavarotti, the New Orleans Gospel Choir, Johnnie Johnson, Pat MacDonald of Timbuk 3, Jeff Beck, Stewart Copeland and Sting, among others. Given this background, it is thus not surprising that the present album, an international multi-million seller, is a star-studded affair guided by the motto "United in diversity, in blues we trust." More comfortable in English than most European singers, the headliner easily holds his own with a roster that includes Sheryl Crow, Macy Gray, Miles Davis, Vanessa Carlton, B.B. King, plus Sting-sponsored Algerian Rai idol Cheb Mami and Dolores O'Riordan of the Cranberries. From the opening, fate-haunted duet with blues legend John Lee Hooker to the closing classically-influenced, heavily orchestrated flight of fantasy sung with both Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli, Zucchero keeps the hits coming. --Christina Roden

5 out of 5 stars BLUE SUGAR...SUGAR'S BLUES !!   April 22, 2008
This review was accidentally placed on the wrong CD (Best of Zucchero), but it rightfully goes with this CD (Zucchero and Co.)! (please forgive) (However,The Best of Zucchero is also ONE GREAT CD and is highly recommended !)
Well, if you love the blues, or an updated/different version thereof, and if you love love songs, you will love this CD ! Whether you can speak Italian or not, who cares...they are love songs, make up your own words ! lol I bought this CD just for one song, Cosi Celeste (she's my baby) but have fallen in love with the entire CD...and Zucchero too I might add ! I discovered him through my love of Cheb Mami and wanted She's My Baby done by both of them, hence this CD was purchased. That song is mesmerizing and Cheb's voice is haunting and the two artists together definitely make beautiful music. This CD is soft and sensual and if you want a unique musical experience I suggest you give it a listen. I have since bought other Zucchero CDs and intend to eventually have all his work. His voice is great, nothing flamboyant or pretentious, just plain nice ! His music is earthy, meaningful, and so romantic. He also does some of his music in English and it is just as nice as that done in Italian. This particular CD is very easy listening and relaxing and makes for good cuddle music too !

5 out of 5 stars Really enjoyable   March 29, 2008
What an amazing talent and entertaining CD. It's just a terrific CD that you will listen to over and over and so will your friends! Every song and each guest performer is so different that you feel like you have taken a musical journey.

5 out of 5 stars Unbelievable artist   March 5, 2008
I always think "Oh this is my favorite song" when I start listening to this album and then the next song plays "No this is my favorite" I finally realized they all are. I could listen to Zucchero all day. I can't believe that he is so unknown in North America. I want to make
everyone I know listen to him so they can realize what a truely unbelievable artist this man is. I started with this album and now own
every one of them. He can truely sing anything.

5 out of 5 stars It's a Shame   December 22, 2007

That more Americans don't know about this incredible artist. I am embarrassed to say that I just discovered Zucchero in October. By chance I was stranded with the band in Mexico City and got to know some of them. I was invited to see them when we arrived in San Jose, Costa Rica and I was blown away. I came home and ordered this, and many others, to add to my extensive music library. It is a favorite. Just simply phenomenal that one guy has so much talent that he has other artists clamoring to work with him. This is what is wrong with American radio today. We are being deprived of great music.
