After three years of tossing and turning in anticipation of a new Enrique Iglesias disc, fans of the Latin superstar may find themselves losing still more sleep over early reviews that take Insomniac to task for straying too far from the sound that launched him to the loverman stratosphere. No need, though. Despite the presence of Lil' Wayne on the ultra-steamy, street-edged "Push" and some unapologetically catchy pop tunes any male singer, ethnicity aside, could have fun with ("Do You Know," for example, and "Tired of Being Sorry," a Ringside re-tread), white-hot machismo and Latin charm permeate Insomniac reliably. "Little Girl" sends out liquid-eyed outpourings of love to the ladies, "Don't You Forget About Me" delivers a sweet lament over a melting guitar line, and three late Spanish-language tracks--though they're just translations of English versions that preceded them--manage to lift the whole thing into a romantic shangri-la. If it's a peppier shangri-la than normal, chalk it up to No-Doz; Iglesias admits in the liner notes that he, himself, is the insomniac the disc was named for. --Tammy La Gorce

4 out of 5 stars Great Album!! 7 good songs.   June 30, 2008
I think this is one of his better albums to date. Songs like : 1. Ring My Bell, 3. Do You Know? (The Ping Pong Song), 4. Somebody's Me, 5. On Top Of You, 6. Tired Of Being Sorry, 8. Wish I Was Your Lover, and 10. Stay Here Tonight, are all great songs, it has a good blend of a great beat, good lyrics and the soulful voice of Enrique that puts these songs among his greatest yet and it rivals his past albums. I would definitely recommend this album to anyone who is a fan of Enrique and a fan of good music in general.

4 out of 5 stars ENRIQUE IGLESIAS - DIMELO/DO YOU KNOW?

El album contiene los temas 'Ring My Bells', 'Push', 'Do You Know (The Ping Pong Song)', 'Somebody's Me', 'Tired of Being Sorry', 'On Top Of You', 'Miss You', 'Wish I Was Your Lover', 'Little Girl', 'Sweet Isabel', 'Stay Here Tonight' y 'Don"t You Forget About Me'.

Do You Know (The Ping Pong Song)'.

5 out of 5 stars A more polished sound and a gret effort put out by Enrique!   February 20, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

I have all of Enrique Iglesias' Spanish and English-language albums and I can definitely say that this one is the most polished and most diverse to date. It's not my favorite album of his, but I thought it was an excellent effort and I listen to it every few days because I do like about 80% of the songs.

Some standouts for me are: 'Ring My Bells' because of the sound and the mysterious mood of the song, 'Do you know/dimelo' because it's just one of those songs that you just start singing along with when it comes on, 'Somebody's Me' because I always love a good ballad and I could relate to the song, 'Tired of being sorry' because of the sophistication of the lyrics, 'Sweet Isabel' because eventhough he claims that it's not about his mother, Isabel Preysler, the song sounds like it could be like her and it's a sweet song, and 'Push' because of it's urban/hip-hop influence. 'Push' is also on the Step Up 2 movie soundtrack.

With some other songs, Enrique mixes in a little reggaeton flavor and even a little middle eastern sound with 'Miss You' and 'On Top of You'. 'Little Girl' is my least favorite because it's just not that exciting.

What I truly admire is that his sound does have subtle differences from album to album and he is definitley not afraid of taking risks musically. I truly thought this was a great album and worth my money!
