We very much like this Oxo grinder. First, we like the fact that the grinder part faces up, when placed on the table. No more messy spills or container underneath needed. Second, this is easy to use, fill and adjust. Third, these have color-coded ceramic grinding plates and the overall design seems sturdy and long-lasting. It grinds well. What we don't like is that the fill stopper fits a bit on the loose side and comes loose a little too easily, when you don't want it too. And then there is the color, if you like the black/stainless look, this is fine, but in our ivory/white kitchen, with our ivory/lightly pastel floral dishes, it doesn't look the best. But, if going for function, this is a great grinder. We wish they were a little lower priced, but would purchase again.

Needed a salt grinder to use the big container of David's kosher salt, I purchased as the nuggets were too big for most recipe uses.
The Oxo unit was the right price and I had good luck with other Oxo products in the past.
When it arrived there were several pleasant surprises; it was pre-filled with high quality sea salt and the unit's form and function are much sturdier that the pictures on the Amazon page let on- this is a well built piece of equipment. With over 2+ months of daily use I am very pleased with the grinder. An well earned 5 star rating from me.

I have used this product for 3 weeks now and it works great. Size is perfect for the kitchen and the grinder feels well-made and should last for a long time. Grinder is easy to use and adjusting the coarseness is simple and effective. This is a much better solution than putting salt in a pepper grinder, I highly recommend it.
