OXOs user-friendly Food Scale with Pull-Out Display is perfect for weighing all ingredients. Weigh items directly on the platform, on a plate or in a bowl, and pull the display away from the base to prevent shadowing from large plates and bowls. Accurately measure ingredients when cooking and baking and stick to a diet by weighing portions. An optional backlight makes the display easier to read and a weight indicator shows the capacity left on the Scale before maximum capacity is reached. Press the zero button to offset the weight of a container or to set the weight back to zero so you can add additional ingredients. The display features large, easy-to-read numbers which measure in 1/8-oz (imperial) and 1-g (metric) increments. The stainless steel platform can be removed for cleaning but no parts are dishwasher safe. The Scale has an 11-lb capacity and 4 AAA batteries are included.

Got rid of my old scale for this one as I needed accuracy and a simple way to measure. Can't think of a way to improve it except maybe having ounces expressed numerically as well as 1/4 etc. Accurate, pull out display allows you to see when a large bowl is used. Love the ability to "zero out" a container. Sits on my counter and use it daily as I do my Weight Watcher thing.

I, unlike other reviewers, use this scale for FOOD. It is a FOOD scale, not a BEAD scale.
It works, and it works well. The pull out display is handy and it cleans up easily.
If you, like me, plan on using this product for FOOD, you will find it works wonderfully.

I had a very old scale that wasn't working well. I'm trying to lose a couple of pounds and decided my portion size was something I needed to pay more attention to. This scale is what I was looking for. Easy to use, nice display and liked the size of the readout. The size is good for storing.

I bought this scale after reading the reviews and I couldn't be more happy with it. At work, I use a more expensive gram scale and standard weights and this Oxo scale is accurate. Like others have said, if you are looking for gem quality or archery quality scales, where you need tenths of a gram or grains, this isn't it. If you are looking for one to weigh food, postage, and bike parts than get this one.

This is a great food scale. It is accurate, easy to use and understand. It cleans up nicely. The scale is thin and easily fits into any drawer in the kitchen. If you are watching your weight or counting your calories, this scale is indispensible in the battle of the bulge.
