Amazon.com Review Cupcake lovers will flip over this super-sized cupcake pan from Wilton Dimensions. Designed to create one giant confection with a sculptural top and bottom, the piece turns out a 3D cupcake that measures approximately 7-1/4 by 7-1/2 inches. The concept is simple--bake the top and bottom halves in the same pan, stick them together with icing, and decorate according to the occasion. Ridges around the bottom of the cupcake and a swirl on the top add to the finished treat's appeal and make frosting fun. Crafted from heavy-gauge cast aluminum, the pan also features a nonstick surface to simplify release and cleanup. A winning novelty gift for the frequent baker, the piece holds 10 cups of batter total and measures 15-1/2 by 8-1/4 by 3-3/4 inches. --Emily Bedard

Instructions November 17, 2009 Andrea Thomas (Putnam, CT) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
OK - here was some helpful info I wish I had. Don't worry about baking one side, then the other. Who has the time to do that?? Make sure you saturate the pan (top, too) with cooking spray. (This is vital - I tried crisco on the sides and it failed) Simply fill the "top" side of the pan, leaving 1/4" of headspace. Then fill the "bottom" of the cupcake, leaving 1 1/4" of headspace. I baked for 50 minutes (oven temps vary) and then let it cool *completely*. (3+ hours) Because cake batter will spill over while baking, take a knife and gently tease the top part of the cake up. I also trimmed the top and bottom BEFORE turning it out of the pan! As long as you have sprayed the pan enough, it should slide right out!
Love it!- Now the Queen of the School Bakesale! November 13, 2009 C. S. Klein This is a great pan. My unique cake creations are a big hit at work and school.

What a disappointment November 8, 2009 Susan J. Stahl 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this cake for my dying sister's 58th birthday. Unfortunately, she is currently in the hospital. She is the family cake baker. I decided to use her gift to bake her cake..... and what a bummer this experience turned out to be. One cake mix was obviously not enough, so I whipped up the 2nd mix and added. It took FOREVER to bake. And even though I spent extra, extra time greasing the pan, it did not release cleanly, and there is nothing that can be done to fix the bottom, fluted part. The top came apart also, but can probably be fixed with frosting. It didn't occur to me to check the hints on-line before backing; Wilton is a well known name and should have supplied accurate instructions if there were issues. Now I am torn between chucking the cake and making cookies, or going back to the store late at night and getting up super early to try again. Don't have any idea if I should even give her this as a gift.
Huge hit at birthday party! November 3, 2009 Z. Linker (Reno, Nv) We bought this to make for my daughter's third birthday. It took a few times to get the hang of but it turned out great and every single person at the party commented on it. Make sure to bake each side seperately!
