Zest electric pepper and salt mills from Peugeot are not only fine examples of contemporary design, but work effortlessly thanks to batteries, a boon for those with hand or wrist issues. Each seven-inch Zest mill is made primarily of a soft-touch body that feels good in the hand and is available in a choice of several bright colors. A loop in the top and a clear acrylic viewing window add a bit of design zest. The difference between the salt and pepper mills lies in the grinding mechanism. Peugeot pepper mills use case-hardened-steel grinding heads with two sizes of grooves; the larger grooves crack the peppercorns in half and direct them into the smaller grooves, which grind them much more finely than most mills. The grinding mechanism in Peugeot salt mills is purposefully constructed with 18/10 stainless-steel, which won't corrode from prolonged contact with the salt. The top of each mill unscrews for adding peppercorns and salt, while a wheel on the bottom turns to vary the coarseness of the grind. The Zest mill comes in just one size and makes a striking gift, either individually or in a set. Four AAA batteries are required for operation, and are included with each mill. Care for a mill is easy: clean the exterior and inner chamber with a damp cloth; never immerse in water; avoid putting salt in the pepper mill, or grinding green or pink peppercorns by themselves (mixed with black is fine); and avoid damp types of salt (usually pink or gray) in the regular salt mill. Made in France, Peugeot mills are covered by a two-year replacement policy, while the grinding mechanism is covered by a lifetime warranty. This grinder is awesome. I normally only have one hand open when I'm cooking so this is a great solution, it's easy to operate (push the button on top, how hard could it be :-) and manipulate, and I havn't had to change the batteries yet!

This electric grinder is totally great! The motor works perfectly, and the pepper comes out perfectly. It's also easy to refill, and keep clean. For me the finger loop is especially handy. I ordered an electric grinder because of my worsening arthritis and hoped it would make cooking easier. Great news! It does! This pepper mill is so easy to use and so comfortable to hold that the fact it's beautiful too is just icing on the cake.

Peugeot Zest Electric Pepper Mill: This was an excellent purchase. It is the easiest pepper mill to use when cooking because you only need only hand to run it. The quality of the pepper it came with with is first class. Also, a very nice color.

After a lot of time looking at different pepper mills, I chose this one. It fits on my shelf, was in my price range and looked different than most mills (and it's red!) However, since not many people post reviews, I only had a couple of people to look to for advice. Well, maybe I'm not doing it right but, it seems that there is really only one type of grind on this mill, partially coarse and partially fine. Oh well, I still like it. I use rechargeable batteries in it and have not had to replace them yet (in four weeks.)
