I bought this spoon rest because I really needed one and the only others I'd ever seen were overly-smallish ceramic jobbies. I don't like knickknacks in my kitchen. This spoon rest is unobtrusive--matches my black and stainless accessories, is upright and therefore takes virtually no counter space, and has simple lines. And it works like a charm. There are places to rest both large and small spoons. The muck gathers in a little stainless dish that is deep enough that you can't see the muck from across the counter. Then you just throw the muck dish in the dishwasher with the day's dishes.
Perfectly simple, perfect solution. I love it when a thing just works.

Love this spoon rest. Easy to clean by removing the stainless steel bowl and also doesn't take up much counter space like most spoon rests do.

I needed a spoon rest for my new kitchen, which I am decorating with black highly polished stoneware and other brilliant black features. I have only used a lying-down-flat spoon rest in the past...this is so much better!! Looks very classy, has a much smaller "footprint" on the stove, especially when a soup spoon is resting in it between stirs. All the drips go into a shiny stainless steel bowl that lifts out and is rinsed clean in a second! The beech wood spoon is extremely useful, however I purchased a black and steel spatula that REALLY sets this off! Very fast ship -- a GREAT purchase! A++++
