Great Product March 10, 2010 M. Murray (Coatesville, PA United States) Great product but it could use a few modifications. The probe needs a longer cord. I also wish there was a setting that you could use for the amount of time that YOU wanted the light to stay on. You can set it for a standard 13 hours if you wish but I would prefer something longer then that. But overall I love it.
Reasonable lamp but no replacement bulbs February 15, 2010 N. J. Allen (NA) Do not buy this lamp - bulbs are nigh impossible to find. The bulb lasted about 3 weeks for me and now can't find a replacement anywhere - not on Amazon, local hardware, local electrical store nor major DIY outlets. So its $$$ down the drain for the entire lamp.
A Bit Frustrating February 5, 2010 IC Gardener (Iowa City, Iowa USA) I bought two of these lights for my children's bonsai trees. I will say that I like the design of this light. It is compact and fits easily in their rooms. The electronics, however, are a bit problematic. As other reviewers have noted, you must plug it in around sunrise, if you are planning on using the built-in timer. But I have noticed that that timer only works for about a week, and then the light will no longer come on. If I unplug it, wait a bit, and plug it in again, it will work properly for another week or so. Perhaps they are defective, but since I don't plan to keep them plugged in all the time, I can live with it. I just wish that there was a switch so you could choose to use the built-in timer, or plug it into your own timer.
Excellent gift! January 3, 2010 C. A. Lincoln (North Pole, Alaska) I bought this for my wife along with another grow light. She loves this one and it looks nice in our living room. Well made good looking light. I may buy another...
Light bulbs blow October 27, 2009 hghquality (East Bay SF Area) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had good luck with these lights for cactus and orchids. However when I was moving I had to move the lights around three times/ Every time the light bulbs would not re-fire. I am not sure what the fix is, except maybe take the bulbs out before un-plugging. otherwise these lights have really helped my plants!
