 Thick, weighted, quality glasses October 14, 2009

I purchased a set for my new apartment after seeing an identical set used at my friend's place.
My friend has had his set for 2 years and has only broken a couple glasses due to nesting the glasses.
The shape is pleasing, and the weighted base is helpful in maintaining stability as well as adding some aesthetic appeal. The overall feel is sturdy as the glass is thick along with the extra thick glass base.
Just remember, don't stack/nest the glasses in each other as they can easily crack and break!

These glasses are so much better than the other Libbey brand glasses we've purchased before, it's hard for me to believe they a) are from the same manufacturer or and b) are as inexpensive as they are.
We love these glasses. Why? They are heavy and stable; the quality of the glass is excellent; they don't pick up water stains from the dishwasher, and the glasses are very durable.
We are very happy with the glasses and feel they were an excellent buy!

I'm giving this set 5 stars because they are nice--even though I've broken many of the small glasses by stacking them. Due to the shape, stacking them pressed the heavy glasses too tighly together causing them to crack. As long as you don't stack them, these are nice, thick, sturdy, attractive glasses. Even the smaller glass is a bit wide for young children, but careful ones can manage. If you want to stack the glasses or use with young children, I recommend the tapered Libbey glasses which nest nicely.

This is a fine set of glasses. They are not anything special, but they are a totally sevicable weekday set for a reasonable price. They are pretty solid and don't seem inclinded to shatter at the lightest touch.

for less than 2 dollars per glass, these are very high quality for such a low price
no, it's not hand cut crystal, however, it is much higher quality than the glassware at your average local diner or coffee shop
