Amazon.com Review This set of simple but elegant crystal wine glasses would grace the simplest outdoor picnic as well as a multicourse formal meal in the dining room. The glasses are 9 inches tall, 2-1/2 inches across the top, and 3 inches across the wider portion of the tulip shape. They have very thin stems and wide, stable bottoms that won't tip easily--a design bonus, since no one likes trying to clean red wine out of a tablecloth. A set of these glasses would make a lovely housewarming or wedding gift, along with a select bottle from your favorite winery. --Marcie Bovetz

Not good red wine glasses - too small November 17, 2009 James Vineyard (Dallas, TX) I thought these glasses from Spiegalau would be like the Vino Grande glasses of that brand I have purchased previously from other sellers. Those original glasses compared very favorably with the Riedel Vinum line, but were more sturdy and fairly priced at about $6 per stem. These Vino Grande stems are more like white wine glasses - the bowl is too small for fine red wine. They also feel thick and less delicate the old glasses. I'm returning mine and looking for alternative stemware.
Update - in looking around on Amazon, the glasses I remember now appear to be carrying the suffix "Magnum" and are no longer available on Amazon.
Perfect everyday wine glasses and a great value to boot! March 30, 2009 Tarun Chachra (Hillsborough, NJ) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
HI All,
First of all.....Spiegelau, from what I am hearing is now owned by Riedel.
That is the good news...if Riedel saw a value then you know there must be something to the quality....
I bought these as they were an excellent value for everyday wine drinking.
They arrived quickly, were packaged very well, and look very simple yet elegant.
I own a lot of Riedel as well but I must say these are perfect for my use for every day. Great VALUE.

Good value January 2, 2008 J. Kautz (Oakland CA) Nicely shaped wine glasses that have withstood the dishwasher and a few hard knocks thus far. I thought they were reasonably priced for the quality.
Spiegelau - red wine glasses December 23, 2007 Lynn G. Kerecman (Elberon, NJ United States) Spiegelau is a good brand for wine glasses. They are sturdy, yet they have a thin rim & nice stem for enjoying good wine. These particular vino grande red wine glasses are good for entertaining when you don't need all of the specific sizes of wine glasses to serve your guests. One size fits all here. Great quality & a great price!
Height of wine vino grande Red Spiegelau October 29, 2007 Penny (Alaska) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Could anyone tell me the height of the Spiegelau vino grande red wine
glasses as advertised on the Amazon site. I need the style that is approx. 8 inches high and holds about 9 oz of wine (measured to the top of the glass). I currently have Spiegelau glasses this size and can't find them in their collection. These appear to be the correct size based on comments in the Review section. They fit in my dishwasher!
Thanks. Jan
