Product Description Information: Matcha is perhaps the most popular green tea on the market today. The first thing you will notice upon opening the packet is that Matcha is a finely powdered green tea and looks like an emerald colored flour. This characteristic truly sets it apart from other teas.
When brewed, the powdered leaf is not strained or left in the pot, but is whisked into a frothy concoction and consumed. Because the leaves themselves are imbibed, brewed Matcha contains higher concentrations of vitamins and antioxidants than most other teas, green, herbal, or otherwise. According to researches done in Japan, brewed Matcha contains nearly 10 times the polyphenols and antioxidants of regular teas, 2 times the antioxidants of a glass of red wine, approximately 9 times the beta-carotene of spinach, and 4 times that of carrots.
Brewing Ceremonial Matcha: 1). Prepare tea bowls by warming them with boiled water. 2). Prepare your Matcha whisk by soaking the tip in the boiled water in one of the bowls for about 10 seconds. 3). Pour the water out and dry the bowl with a paper towel. 4). Using your tea spoon, add 2 scoops of Matcha to each bowl. 5). Pour 1/3 of a cup of your hot water into each bowl. 6). In a slow "m' motion, submerge any loose bits of Matcha that may be floating on the surface of the tea. 7). Whisk the tea more briskly in a back and forth motion until the surface of the Matcha becomes frothy. 8). Consume immediately.
Brewing Cold Matcha: 1g Matcha, 8 oz cold water, lemon, and sugar to taste. 1). Add 1g of Matcha to a little water and mix until you have a nice paste. 2). Add your paste to the rest of your glass of water and stir well. 3). Squeeze a lemon into to the mixture and add sugar to taste. 4). Add ice. Enjoy.
Iced Matcha latte: 4g Matcha, 2 tbsp sugar, 3 tbsp hot water, 10 oz milk, ice. 1). Blend dry Matcha and sugar in a glass. 2). Pour in the hot water and whisk into a paste. 3). Pour cold milk over the Matcha mixture. 4). Add ice

Great quality matcha at an unbeatable price October 15, 2009 Elleni Gogas (San Diego, CA, USA) For months I had been looking for matcha that was of high quality but not overpriced. This was smooth, had an incredible emerald green color and tasted as it should. A matcha recipe pamphlet was included, which was very useful for a novice such as myself.
Tastes like Fish September 23, 2009 50unitedstates50 (Virginia) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This stuff is barely acceptable. I have some Starbucks Tazo Matcha powder and thought this might be a close match in flavor. But, it's really funky tasting. I'd describe the taste like a cross between grass clippings from a lawn mower and a really strong fishy taste. I know the Starbucks Matcha has sugar mixed in there but even still, with a pound of sugar and cream you can still easily taste that fishy flavor. I pretty sure I would not buy again. BUT, the seller shipped it VERY fast and there were no problems otherwise.
Happy about the quality September 18, 2009 A. Waddle (San Fran, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been a tea drinker for a while, and green tea is my favorite, so I am very familiar with the green tea and matcha products. While I do enjoy green tea au lait, latte, frappe, and tea with honey or sugar, I like the plain green tea the best, since they are 0 calories and help stimulates your metabolism. Plain green teas are naturally bitter, it is a taste you have to acquire. But once you have the taste for it, you'll see a whole new different world of tea.
I was looking for green tea powders in make simple matcha. After some research, I decided to give this a try. Sure, it's not the ceremonial grade green tea, but you are paying what you get, and I think this is the best I can get at this price. Like all other reviews, yes, a little goes a long way. The shipping is fast, I definitely will come back for more.
By the way, one reason I purchased this tea powder is because the tea is made in Taiwan, not China. Many of my Japanese friends advised me to avoid tea powders from China. There are stories about the artificial coloring and filler additives. While the these horror stories are not verified, I certainly do not want to be the one to find out first-handed.
GREAT price, GREAT product September 4, 2009 kjcruisin (South Easton, MA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am new to the Matcha Green Tea. I did some research and found this brand to have the best price. SUPER FAST DELIVERY! It comes in an appropriate container for Matcha Green Tea. I like how it had instructions on how to make the tea, and I like how it had other recipes. I like the flavor. Did I mention SUPER FAST DELIVERY?!??!
