I wanted something that was not caffeine loaded, and would not make me speedy, just refill chemicals needed by a tired body without bad stuff. This seems to do it. The first time I tried it was on a bike ride when I started feeling nauseous due to the exertion. I stopped and swallowed a packet of this then started riding again. In a few minutes I really did feel better. In other words, works for me.
My favorite gel - no caffeine October 23, 2009

I was looking for a gel with no caffeine and this is a nice choice (only the expresso flavor has caffeine, I think). I don't like the taste of any of them but this is at least palatable. I plan on using this gel early in a marathon, then a caffeinated one later on. It tastes like vanilla frosting on steroids.

I have tried so many different products - from beans, to blocks, to gels and this is the best flavor and consistency that I have found. The texture is more like liquid fudge rather than gooey gel.

I tried Hammer gel after I had several failing attempts with other gels, bars, jelly beans, and candies. My husband and I used it on our half marathon, and it was so easy on the stomach and the longevity was extremely beneficial. It tasted great and didn't make either of us feel as though we swallowed cement. I will certainly use this product from now on and encourage others to as well.
