The particularity of this cheese comes from the special cows used for it's production, Vosgiennes cows, animals that migrated from Scandinavia in the 1700s - so Munster is perhaps part Scandinavian as well as French? Characterized by a potently tangy and robust flavor, and a smooth yellowish interior covered with reddish-orange rind, this cheese pairs well with a good brew - beer drinkers, rejoice!
