Amazon.com Product Description JVC's XL-FZ700BK takes CD playback beyond quality and into the realm of true convenience using JVC's exclusive seven-disc carousel changer with play exchange, which lets you switch up to six discs while one plays. CD-specific features include continuous sequential play, "smart" random play, and 32-step (tracks or discs, across five discs) program play. The player includes a full-function remote control with direct-disc and 10-key direct-track access; the unit's front panel offers direct-disc access for all seven discs. An optical digital-audio output eases hookup with a CD or minidisc recorder or a surround receiver. The player offers four-way repeat (all tracks, single track, programmed tracks, random play) as well as resume, which picks up where you left off in an earlier listening. When it comes to quality, the XL-FZ700BK uses JVC's proprietary single-bit P.E.M. D.D. converter with 8x oversampling, which boasts two to four times the resolution of conventional one-bit converters. The P.E.M. D.D. uses two independent pulse waves that are combined to more than double the effective resolution, greatly enhancing the signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range in the analog domain. JVC's Compu Link feature fosters one-touch source selection with matching JVC audio components. With this unit's Compu Link III, the appropriate components will also automatically power up as needed.

Nice CD changer September 3, 2008 I purchased this for use at my church, and it works great. It's very versatile, and provides us with the ability to quickly go from a selection on one CD to a selection on another CD.
lasts till warrantee is done September 8, 2007 I've had the same problem 3x now. The unit just freezes and the tray will not even open. The first 2x it happened, JVC was able to walk me thru steps to open the tray manually. Now that this happened the third time, and the warrantee expired 3 months ago, none of the procedures work. I had a feeling when I saw this cd player when I opened it that it would not last. The tray does not simlpy rotate the discs; each disc sits on its own tray and each tray slides independantly. Very herky jerky.
Exactly what I expected August 2, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This CD player was the best home CD player JVC could have put out. The 5 disc player looked cheap and the other player JVC puts out (25 disc, 50 disc, etc) was just too much. So if you want a good medium ground meaning: not to many cd's to load at one time, and a cd player that does not look cheap I would get this one.
Pleased but not sure it will last as long as our previous Sony May 27, 2006 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
We purchased this item to replace a Sony 5-CD disc changer that we had been using since 1986. The item was shipped from an Amazon partner, but it came in a timely manner and was easy to connect and begin using. We had a problem with the Random function at first, i.e., the CDs wouldn't move properly. It seemed to calm down the next time we used it and has been fine ever since...hopefully we won't have a future problem. There is quite a bit of clunky noice when the CDs shift, but it isn't much different than the 5-CD disc changer that we used to have. While now all is fine, it seems likely to us that it won't last as long as our last one since there is more complexity to the 7 disc changer. Having said that, having 7 is definitely better than 5. Give it a try!
7 Disc CD changer March 16, 2006 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
After 10 years of great service from a Radio Shack 5 disc cd changer which was fried by a lightning strike, I settled on the JVC XLFZ700BK 7-Disc CD Changer because of price, easy availability and compatibility with my new Denon stereo receiver which I also bought via Amazon. In the first few months of use, the JVC XLFZ700BK 7-Disc CD Changer has improved my experience by having two more CD's play than my old 5 CD changer, has a remote functionality via my receiver and has great clarity. The only minor drawbacks are the noisy, clunky sounds when changing CD's to play in random modeand the less random programming than my other CD changer. I was very pleased with Amazon's value price and free shipping.
