Not happy with Software update September 8, 2008 I have a Garmin Nuvi GPS and it has worked well until I installed this up-dated mapping software. I drove down to DC and Baltimore using my GPS and it got me down there. However, when I was going to Baltimore from DC, it was telling me to take 95 south rather than 95 north just to mention one problem. I ended up turning it off and following a friend who was originally following me. His Tom Tom seemed to work much better.
Easy to use! September 7, 2008 Having never upgraded my Nuvi 350 before I was a little apprehensive, but it was very easy to do with the CD. Just be aware that it takes a bit of time for the info to download to the GPS. Also found new, free add-ons at the Garmin site, such as changing vehicles to fit the season!
Still like the Garmin navigator September 7, 2008 Has updated information working in our area (central NC) so far, but takes a longer time to load than our earlier version. It is helpful most of the time, but can lead you astray in the details (like exactly where to turn when arriving at a destination) and in turns occurring just at the end of a tunnel. Still, our family members always want to have it when driving in unfamiliar areas. It is LOTS easier (and safer) than struggling to hold a map and drive at the same time.
Not compatible with previous versions of Windows September 2, 2008 I bought the 2009 edition of Garmin maps as a gift for a friend. I am returning the disc, since apparently it is not compatible with previous versions of Microsoft Windows. The system requirements were left out of Amazon's product description.
Just Keeping Up with Current Maps August 31, 2008 I more or less subscribe to the annual updating of my Garmin software for my Nuvi 670.
Between the 2008 and 2009 versions, in the Chicago area, 355 near Joliet was added (missing in the 2008 version). 2008 directed me to three Harvey's in Toronto that were closed (I think there's been a lof of changes in the past few years). 2009 only shows open Harvey's.
Basically I don't see a ton of difference. If it's all about staying current, this update is for you.
